How to uninstall Qoder CN on Mac
Qoder CN is Alibaba Cloud's agent desktop app for the China region, with the bundle ID com.qodercn.app. It keeps your task history on your Mac, in ~/.qoder-cn, and its app data in a folder whose name adds .stable to the bundle ID, so a search for the bundle ID alone misses it. Qoder CN's macOS installation guide says removing the app does not replace a backup of your project files and important task output, so decide what to keep first. In this test the download installed through a separate Qoder CN Installer.app, which stayed in Applications afterward and needs removing too. This guide covers the download from qoder.cn. Qoder CN IDE, the renamed Lingma IDE, is a different app; see the Lingma guide.
Quit Qoder CN
- Finish or save any running task, then quit Qoder CN from its app menu or with Command-Q.
- Search for Qoder in Activity Monitor and check that Qoder CN's processes have exited.
- Open System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions and turn off any Qoder CN entry that is still listed. None was added in this test.
Qoder CN IDE was also named Qoder CN before a rename, so check the bundle ID before you delete:
mdls -name kMDItemCFBundleIdentifier "/Applications/Qoder CN.app" "/Applications/Qoder CN Installer.app"
"com.qodercn.app" is the app this guide covers and "com.qodercn.installer" is its installer. Any other ID means a different Qoder product. "could not find" means nothing is installed at that path.
Move Qoder CN and its installer to Trash
Open the Applications folder in Finder and move both Qoder CN and Qoder CN Installer to Trash. The installer is a separate app of about 242 MB; removing Qoder CN does not take it with it.
Where Qoder CN keeps its files
In Finder, press Shift + Command + G and check each location. Skip the ones that do not exist.
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
~/.qoder-cn |
Task transcripts under projects, plugins, helper binaries, logs and skill usage (38 MB in this test) |
Back up what you want to keep, then remove it; see the note below |
~/Library/Application Support/com.qodercn.app.stable |
App data, with rebuildable caches and logs inside (32 MB in this test) | Remove it once you have what you need |
~/.qmind |
An agent folder, empty in this test |
Safe to remove |
~/Library/Preferences/com.qodercn.app.plist |
Preferences | Remove with the app |
~/Library/Preferences/com.qodercn.installer.plist, ~/Library/Application Support/com.qoder.installer |
Left by the installer | Safe to remove |
These descriptions come from what this test observed on disk; Qoder CN's documentation does not list its local paths. A ~/.qoder-cn folder already existed, empty, before this test, and Qoder CN's FAQ uses the related name .qoder-cn-server for Qoder CN IDE's remote component. If Qoder CN IDE is installed, look inside ~/.qoder-cn before deleting it and keep anything that is not Qoder CN's.
Check the result
pgrep -il qoder
ls -d "/Applications/Qoder CN.app" "/Applications/Qoder CN Installer.app"
ls -d ~/.qoder-cn "$HOME/Library/Application Support/com.qodercn.app.stable" ~/.qmind
- No output from
pgrepmeans no Qoder process is running. A listed process means Qoder CN or another Qoder product is still open. - The first
ls -dprints each app that is still in Applications. A surviving installer is the usual leftover. - The last
ls -dprints each folder that still exists and reports "No such file or directory" for the rest. Surviving folders are expected when you leave those rows unticked.
Qoder CN did not add a login item, a command in /usr/local/bin or a line to your shell configuration in this test. No Homebrew cask for Qoder CN was found. Removing the app does not cancel a Qoder CN subscription or close your Alibaba Cloud account. What Mole lists
When you remove Qoder CN with Mole:
~/Library/Preferences/com.qodercn.app.plist, temporary caches and the recent-documents entry are selected by default, and so are the rebuildable caches and logs inside~/Library/Application Support/com.qodercn.app.stable(Cache,Code Cache,GPUCache,DawnGraphiteCache,DawnWebGPUCache,Crashpad,blob_storage,logs).~/Library/Application Support/com.qodercn.app.stableitself,~/.qoder-cnand~/.qmindstay unticked with “Remove data and settings with apps” off; turning it on can select eligible app data. Back up wanted tasks first and uncheck shared data or archives you want to keep; protected agent archives still need individual review or remain locked.- Qoder CN Installer appears as a separate app in Mole's list. Select it as well; its preferences file and temporary cache are selected by default.
~/Library/Application Support/com.qoder.installeris not listed with Qoder CN. Mole lists it for review when you remove Qoder IDE. With “Remove data and settings with apps” off it stays unticked; eligible app data can be selected with that setting on.
What this test covered
Qoder CN 0.4.3 was downloaded from qoder.cn, installed with Qoder CN Installer, signed in and used for a few prompts on September 28, 2026. On September 29 Qoder CN and its installer were quit and removed together with a development build of Mole with every row ticked, in a run with other AI apps. Before removal Mole's Status page showed Qoder CN as one row of 31 processes using 2.22 GB. The first scan missed the data folder, because its .stable suffix matched neither the app name nor the bundle ID; with that folder, ~/.qoder-cn and ~/.qmind claimed, the run moved both apps and all selected rows to the Trash, and a rescan found nothing left. The app added no login item, launch command or shell line. The upgrade path from Lingma, Qoder CN IDE and signing out were not tested.
