How to uninstall FluidVoice on Mac
Export any FluidVoice audio history you want to keep before removing the app. Its official documentation describes optional local recording history and ZIP export. Downloaded speech models, transcripts and provider settings deserve review before you remove their folders.
Quit and remove the app
Stop recording, copy or export needed text and quit FluidVoice from its menu-bar menu. Move FluidVoice.app to the Trash. If a login/background entry remains, inspect the named FluidVoice entry in System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions; do not edit permission databases.
Review local data
After saving your recording/history export and quitting FluidVoice, open the exact paths below with Finder Shift + Command + G. Copy wanted data outside the folder before removal, then move only the items you no longer need to the Trash. Skip missing paths and leave shared parent folders alone.
~/Library/Application Support/com.FluidApp.appwas written by the tested app; copy wanted data before removing it.- The cask also lists
~/Library/Application Support/FluidAudioand~/Library/Application Support/FluidVoice, which can include model or application data. Inspect each rather than assuming it is a cache. ~/Library/Caches/com.FluidApp.app,~/Library/Caches/FluidAudio,~/Library/Logs/Fluidand~/Library/Preferences/com.FluidApp.app.plistare separate cask targets.
Check the result
pgrep -ifl FluidVoice
ls -ld /Applications/FluidVoice.app "$HOME/Library/Application Support/com.FluidApp.app" "$HOME/Library/Application Support/FluidAudio"
No process output means this name was not found, not that every helper has gone. Check any match against the app’s actual executable path. A missing-path error from ls means only that location is absent; permission errors leave its state unknown. A surviving folder can be intentional data to keep.
If you installed it with Homebrew
Ordinary cask uninstall requests FluidVoice to quit. Zap includes both FluidAudio and FluidVoice support folders, the two cache locations, Fluid logs and the exact preference file. A direct zap can discard downloaded models or history stored in those support folders.
To uninstall without zap, use:
brew uninstall --cask fluidvoice
Mole checks Homebrew's full removal list and skips --zap when it reaches unchecked data, shared files or anything it cannot verify. It still removes the leftovers you selected. A direct brew uninstall --cask --zap fluidvoice runs Homebrew’s full zap list without consulting Mole’s checkboxes.
Uninstalling does not cancel an optional cloud provider’s plan or delete its account.
What Mole lists
Mole selects the app and the exact com.FluidApp.app support, preference and cache rows by default. That support row can hold personal data, so back it up or uncheck it before removal. ~/Library/Application Support/FluidVoice and ~/Library/Application Support/FluidAudio are review rows. With Default remove app data off they start unchecked; with it on, eligible own data can start checked. Inspect and uncheck wanted models/history and any folder still used by another app.
What this test covered
On September 25, 2026, the official FluidVoice 1.6.9 app was copied from its disk image and uninstalled with a development build of Mole. Six selected items were removed and no attributed leftovers remained in that observation window. This did not test a downloaded model library, audio-history recovery, cloud billing or the published Mole package.
