How to uninstall Eye Monitor on Mac

Save wanted Eye Monitor settings before removing its Mac App Store app. The recorded sandbox is ~/Library/Containers/com.caiwenshuo.EyeUsage-Monitor; copy the entire existing container after quitting, outside sync/removal roots, and verify it before clearing local state.

Quit reminders and remove the app

Finish any active break reminder and quit Eye Monitor. Review its owned login entry in System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions if present, keeping other apps' entries. After backup, follow Apple's Finder removal instructions and move Eye Monitor.app from Applications to the Trash. A Pro subscription, if you have one, is separate from local removal.

    Check the result

    pgrep -ifl 'Eye Monitor|EyeUsage-Monitor'
    ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Containers/com.caiwenshuo.EyeUsage-Monitor" "$HOME/Library/Application Scripts/com.caiwenshuo.EyeUsage-Monitor"

No process match means no arguments matched this pattern. A printed container or scripts directory remains, expected if deliberately retained. Missing-path errors concern only those entries; other read errors are inconclusive. An absent app does not cancel billing or verify saved-setting restoration.

    What Mole lists

The exact main container and Application Scripts rows are selected by default, so back up and uncheck wanted settings. The bundled com.caiwenshuo.EyeUsage-Monitor-LaunchAtLoginHelper uses a hyphen rather than a dot continuation and does not inherit the main container's selection merely by being bundled. Reviewed eligible unshared data starts unchecked with Remove data and settings with apps off and may be preselected when enabled, subject to the actual rows and ownership checks.

    What this test covered

The Mac App Store Eye Monitor removal was recorded on September 23, 2026 and rechecked on September 26. The app, main container, Application Scripts and selected caches were removed, and the follow-up reviewed list had no surviving entries. Its store version was 1.7 while the bundle reported 13.1.17. Long-term reminder behavior, settings restoration, Pro cancellation and Homebrew were not tested.

If Mac apps leave files behind after uninstalling, try Mole. I've personally tested and inspected 799 Mac apps.
