How to uninstall Capacities on Mac
In Capacities, use Settings › Full Export › Manual Full Export and save the result outside the app support folder. Open the export and check objects and media. Capacities says media not downloaded to this device cannot be included; if you need those files, first use Settings › Offline & Sync › Media Download Settings and choose Everything, then export again. Verify the export before deleting local data.
The recorded test used the official Mac package; the Homebrew route below is separate.
Remove the app
Quit Capacities and move Capacities.app from Applications to Trash. The local support folder may hold offline content, so leave it until the full export and any account sync you rely on have been checked. An exported file in Downloads is separate from the app cleanup and should stay where you saved it.
Review local data
The path below is documented in the current Homebrew cask. In Finder, use Go › Go to Folder to inspect it. Do not remove its parent directory or another product’s data.

The tested package uses bundle ID io.capacities.app. Review only files that actually appear on this Mac. A missing path needs no cleanup.

Check what remains
Run these read-only commands after quitting the app:
pgrep -il 'Capacities'
ls -d "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Capacities"
No process output means there is no matching process running now; it does not prove every helper is gone. A listed process needs its owner checked. If ls prints the path, that item remains and needs review. “No such file or directory” means this path is absent; a permission error means its state was not established.
If you installed it with Homebrew
The current capacities cask has a zap list covering Capacities support data, logs, preferences and saved state. A direct brew command with --zap applies the cask list without consulting Mole’s checkboxes. After backing up, use this command without --zap:
brew uninstall --cask capacities
Mole checks each zap path against your selections, other installed apps, and protected locations. An unchecked, shared, or unverifiable path suppresses --zap; selected remnants can still use Mole’s own removal flow. This cask was not the recorded installation channel.
What Mole lists
Mole lists Application Support/Capacities as an app-name review row, initially unchecked, and can select exact io.capacities.app preferences by default. It cannot check whether media has downloaded or the full export contains every space, so keep the support row unchecked until you have reviewed the export.
What this test covered
The official Capacities.app 1.70.2 was removed on September 21, 2026, with a 7.3 MB Application Support/Capacities row selected. There was no login or populated space, so account sync, exports and offline media were not verified.
