How to uninstall Xiaomi MiMo on Mac

This guide covers the Mac desktop app from the Xiaomi MiMo website. Save wanted conversations, automation data and projects first. In particular, ~/XiaomiMiMoProjects is not disposable cache. Manage a separately installed MiMo Code CLI independently.

Quit and remove the desktop app

Stop active tasks, save their results, then press Command + Q to quit Xiaomi MiMo. Move Xiaomi MiMo.app from Applications to Trash. Desktop removal does not delete your account or cancel a subscription.

    Review conversations and projects

These locations were observed after this desktop installation. Inspect them with Shift + Command + G in Finder. Copy wanted material elsewhere and confirm that it opens before choosing directories to remove.

    Path Decision
~/Library/Application Support/Xiaomi MiMo Desktop data that may contain conversations and sign-in state. Save wanted material first.
~/Library/Application Support/MiMo Automation Automation data. Keep it if another MiMo installation still uses it.
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.xiaomi.mimo.desktop.plist Desktop preferences.
~/.config/mimocode CLI-related configuration. Keep it when still using MiMo Code.
~/.local/share/mimocode CLI-related data. Keep it when still using MiMo Code.
~/.cache/mimocode CLI-related cache. Check that no task is running first.
~/XiaomiMiMoProjects Projects. Keep authored files rather than deleting them with the app.

The last four locations were absent before this installation. That does not establish exclusive desktop ownership on every Mac. An independent CLI, another MiMo version or custom data locations can change that boundary.

    Check the result

    if [ -e "/Applications/Xiaomi MiMo.app" ]; then
printf '%s\n' 'App bundle still exists'
    else
printf '%s\n' 'App bundle not found at this path'
    fi
    ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Xiaomi MiMo" "$HOME/Library/Application Support/MiMo Automation"
    ls -ld "$HOME/.config/mimocode" "$HOME/.local/share/mimocode" "$HOME/.cache/mimocode" "$HOME/XiaomiMiMoProjects"

An ls listing means the corresponding path remains, No such file means it is absent, and Permission denied leaves it unverified. Retained projects or CLI data are not a failed uninstall; an absent app at the original location does not mean the account was deleted.

    What Mole lists

Preferences and identified cache and log children inside the desktop data directory are selected by default. With app-data selection off, the complete ~/Library/Application Support/Xiaomi MiMo and ~/Library/Application Support/MiMo Automation directories are listed but not selected. Keep wanted conversations and automation material, and review the selection even if you opt into app-data removal.

This guide does not claim that Mole automatically removes the last four locations. Projects and independent CLI data need an ownership decision of their own.

    What this test covered

The official desktop build 26.929.292248 was tested on October 8, 2026. Sign-in and conversation data were explicitly disposable test material. Mole removed the app and 14 selected remnants. Status showed one app row, and update detection identified the Electron channel. The last four directories were then removed separately through Finder after confirming they contained only this test’s data. That was not automatic Mole coverage, and real-project restoration and independent CLI removal were not tested.

If Mac apps leave files behind after uninstalling, try Mole. I've personally tested and inspected 812 Mac apps.
