How to uninstall WidgetWall on Mac
Save wanted widget notes and bookmarks, and record your desktop layout before removing WidgetWall. Developer’s listing
The developer lists customizable widgets, photos and wallpapers. Keep the original photos and other desktop apps; deleting WidgetWall settings is not a backup of widget contents.
Quit and remove the app
Quit WidgetWall, then inspect ~/Library/Containers/com.amicoapps.widgetwall using Finder’s Go › Go to Folder. Copy wanted local contents and check the backup before resetting them. Then move WidgetWall.app from Applications to the Trash.
Check the result
ls -ld "/Applications/WidgetWall.app"
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Containers/com.amicoapps.widgetwall"
Printed paths remain. No such file or directory means that exact item is absent; permission errors leave it unknown. A kept container is expected when preserving data; these checks do not inspect other devices or saved originals.
What Mole lists
The exact main container is selected by default when present and unprotected. Uncheck wanted local data. Remove data and settings with apps is off by default; enabling it includes eligible reviewed data, while shared and protected items retain their boundaries.
What this test covered
The Mac App Store app was removed on September 21, 2026, with its main container initially denied. A September 26 repeat with a source-built Mole removed the app and selected local rows. No populated widgets or desktop-layout recovery was tested.
