How to uninstall uBlock Origin Lite on Mac
Record the uBlock Origin Lite rulesets and site choices you want to reuse before removing its Safari edition. Keep other blockers separate; uBlock Origin Lite is not a reason to delete Safari browsing data. Developer’s listing
Disable the extension and remove the app
In Safari › Settings › Extensions, deselect uBlock Origin Lite. Apple’s extension instructions describe Uninstall or removing the containing app. Quit Safari and the companion app before copying settings from these locally verified containers:
~/Library/Containers/net.raymondhill.uBlock-Origin-Lite~/Library/Containers/net.raymondhill.uBlock-Origin-Lite.Extension
Copy wanted contents and check the backup, then move uBlock Origin Lite.app from Applications to the Trash. Keep Safari’s profile and other extensions.
Check the result
ls -ld "/Applications/uBlock Origin Lite.app"
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Containers/net.raymondhill.uBlock-Origin-Lite" "$HOME/Library/Containers/net.raymondhill.uBlock-Origin-Lite.Extension"
Printed paths remain. A missing-path error concerns only that item; permission errors leave it unknown. Reopen Safari and check the same Extensions list, refreshing an open webpage if needed. A quiet process list would not prove blocking has stopped: the developer describes browser-managed declarative filtering without a permanently running extension process.
What Mole lists
The main container and scripts, and the confirmed bundled Extension container and scripts, are selected by default when present and unprotected. Uncheck settings you need. Remove data and settings with apps is off by default; opting in includes eligible reviewed data, with protected browser data retaining its boundaries.
What this test covered
The Mac App Store app was removed on September 21, 2026, with the initial container scan not included and extension data unchecked. A September 26 repeat with a source-built Mole removed the app and selected main and extension rows. The original test did not enable the Safari extension, and neither record establishes filtering behavior, another synced device or restoration of customized rulesets.
