How to uninstall Topaz Video on Mac

Finish exports and save your source videos, project files and rendered outputs before removing Topaz Video. This is the current Topaz Video product tested as an app payload, not the older Topaz Video AI. Quit the app, copy wanted contents from the observed ~/Library/Application Support/Topaz Labs LLC/Topaz Video to a checked backup, and keep the Topaz Labs LLC parent and other products’ data.

    Remove the tested app copy

After checking the backup, move Topaz Video.app from Applications to the Trash using Apple’s app-removal procedure. The recorded test did not run the package installer or plugin installers. This app-copy procedure does not establish removal of plugins from a complete installation; retain any installed plugin until you have confirmed the removal flow for that version with the vendor or its managing Homebrew cask.

The separately observed ~/Library/Caches/Topaz Labs LLC/Topaz Video can be reviewed after quitting, but do not remove the whole vendor cache parent. Keep source videos and rendered results at their own chosen locations.

If you installed it with Homebrew

Read the ordinary plugin-removal scope before proceeding, especially if another editing workflow still uses Topaz Video AI plugins. Uninstall without zap:

    brew uninstall --cask topaz-video

The current cask installs a package and runs additional After Effects and OpenFX installation scripts. Ordinary uninstall unloads com.topazlabs.veai.nukepath, handles the app and plugin package receipts, deletes Topaz Video AI Frame Interpolation.plugin and Topaz Video AI.plugin from the named Adobe After Effects 2020 to 2025 Plug-ins folders, and deletes /Library/OFX/Plugins/Topaz Video AI.ofx.bundle. It is not an app-only operation, even without zap. Keep the installed bundle available until managed removal completes.

Additional zap targets are ~/Library/Application Support/Topaz Labs LLC/Topaz Video, ~/Library/Caches/Topaz Labs LLC/Topaz Video, ~/Library/Preferences/com.topazlabs.Topaz Video.plist and ~/Library/Preferences/com.topazlabs.Topaz-Video.plist. Direct brew uninstall --cask --zap topaz-video uses the entire list independently of Mole’s checkboxes. Mole only uses zap when the complete scope passes selection and shared-data checks, otherwise selected remnants use its own removal flow.

    Check the result

    ls -ld "/Applications/Topaz Video.app"
    ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Topaz Labs LLC/Topaz Video" "$HOME/Library/Caches/Topaz Labs LLC/Topaz Video"

Printed paths remain. A missing-path error concerns only that exact item; permission errors leave it unknown. Retained data may be intentional. These checks do not verify every editor plugin, model location or recovered project.

    What Mole lists

The app is included for removal when selected. Exact application preferences such as ~/Library/Preferences/com.topazlabs.Topaz-Video.plist are normally selected when present and unprotected; uncheck settings you need. The observed vendor-nested support and cache locations are not a guarantee that the scan lists them. Keep shared vendor parents. Remove data and settings with apps is off by default; eligible reviewed rows can be included when enabled, with shared and protected data retaining its boundaries.

    What this test covered

The official package’s app payload was copied, launched and removed with a source-built Mole on September 22, 2026. Package scripts and Final Cut, After Effects and OpenFX plugin installers were not run. The observed product support and cache folders were not collected in that removal, and the vendor parent was not selected. Plugin removal, model recovery and a Homebrew-managed uninstall were not tested.

If Mac apps leave files behind after uninstalling, try Mole. I've personally tested and inspected 799 Mac apps.
