How to uninstall toonflow on Mac

toonflow is an open-source AI tool that turns novels and scripts into short animated dramas, built on Electrobun and downloaded from toonflow.net or the project's GitHub releases. The README says where a source install keeps projects but not where the desktop app does, and the test created no project, so if you made projects in toonflow, export or copy what you need before you start. Its main data folder is selected by default in Mole. This guide covers the official Apple silicon build; there is no Homebrew cask for it.

    Quit and remove the app

    1. Quit toonflow from its menu or press Command + Q. In the test it ran 10 processes, which Mole's Status page groups into one toonflow row; check Activity Monitor for toonflow afterwards.
    2. Open Finder, go to Applications and drag toonflow to the Trash.

The app registered no login item or launch agent in the test.

    Where the data lives

Press Shift + Command + G in Finder to open each path. Skip any path that is not on your Mac.

Location What it holds What to do
~/Library/Application Support/local.toonflow.desktop 148 MB on the test Mac. A stable folder holding the archive the app unpacks itself from and an uninstall helper Remove. Selected by default, so look inside first if you created projects.
~/Library/Preferences/local.toonflow.desktop.plist Preferences Remove. Selected by default.
~/Library/WebKit/local.toonflow.desktop Web view storage Remove. Selected by default.

A temporary cache for local.toonflow.desktop sits in your per-user cache folder (getconf DARWIN_USER_CACHE_DIR prints it), and Mole removes it with the app.

    Check the result

    pgrep -il toonflow
    ls -ld "/Applications/toonflow.app" "$HOME/Library/Application Support/local.toonflow.desktop" "$HOME/Library/WebKit/local.toonflow.desktop"

    • No output from pgrep means no toonflow process is running. A printed line is a process that is still alive; quit it in Activity Monitor.
    • A path printed by ls still exists. No such file or directory means the path is gone.

    Accounts and model keys

Removing the app does not close any account you use with AI model providers. If you entered API keys in toonflow, revoke them on the provider's site if you no longer need them.

    What Mole lists

Mole selects the app, ~/Library/Application Support/local.toonflow.desktop, the preferences file, ~/Library/WebKit/local.toonflow.desktop and the temporary cache. No row is left for review.

These defaults assume “Remove data and settings with apps” in General › Cleaning is off. Turning it on changes nothing for toonflow, since every row is already selected.

    What this test covered

On October 20, 2026, the test installed toonflow 2.0.6 for Apple silicon from the official package, launched it, created no project and removed it with a source-built Mole. Mole listed four rows and the app and moved all of them to the Trash. A search afterwards by product name and bundle id found nothing left. Status showed one toonflow row with 10 processes. Mole found no update feed for the app, and no update was run. Projects, model keys and Mole's notarized release build were not tested.

If Mac apps leave files behind after uninstalling, try Mole. I've personally tested and inspected 844 Mac apps.
