How to uninstall 千问办公 (QwenWork) on Mac
千问办公 (QwenWork) is Alibaba's AI office agent desktop app, downloaded from qwenwork.cn. It is a different product from the Qwen chat app, which has its own guide. The one folder to think about before you remove it is ~/.qwenworkcn: it held 180 MB on the test Mac, with the agent's working data, skills, launcher scripts and a local task database. The official macOS guide warns that deleting it removes local task history that has not synced to the cloud, and suggests signing out from the account menu first. This guide covers the official Apple silicon download; there is no Homebrew cask for it.
Quit the app
- If you are signed in, sign out from the account menu, as the official guide suggests.
- Right-click 千问办公 in the Dock and choose Quit.
- Open Activity Monitor and search for
QwenWork. In the test the app ignored both Quit and Force Quit and had to be killed, and its helper and crash reporter kept running after the app was in the Trash. Select any process still listed and click the stop button, then Force Quit. - The app registers a login item on its first launch, and macOS shows an "added login item" notice. You can turn it off in System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions, or leave it for the uninstall below.
Remove the app
Open Finder, go to Applications and drag 千问办公 to the Trash. The bundle on disk is QwenWorkCN.app.
Where the data lives
Press Shift + Command + G in Finder to open each path. Skip any path that is not on your Mac.
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
~/.qwenworkcn |
Agent data, the qwenwork and dws launchers in bin, skills, the local task database, a machine id and the MCP adapter settings |
The official guide removes it with rm -rf ~/.qwenworkcn. Copy it first if you want unsynced task history. Mole lists it for review and does not select it. |
~/Library/Application Support/QwenWorkCN |
The Electron data folder: sign-in state, local storage, the browser connector files and native-messaging-host.sh |
Remove once you have signed out. Mole lists the folder for review and selects only the cache folders inside it. |
~/Library/Application Support/QwenWorkCN/blob_storage, Cache, Code Cache, Crashpad, logs |
Caches, crash reports and logs | Remove. Selected by default. |
~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/NativeMessagingHosts/com.qwen.work.cn.connector.json |
The Chrome connector file. It tells Chrome to launch native-messaging-host.sh in the folder above |
Remove with the app. Mole lists it for review while the QwenWorkCN folder is in the same list. |
~/Library/Caches/cn.qwenwork.desktop.mac, ~/Library/HTTPStorages/cn.qwenwork.desktop.mac |
Caches and network storage | Remove. Selected by default. |
~/Library/Logs/QwenWorkCN |
Logs | Remove. Selected by default. |
~/Library/Preferences/cn.qwenwork.desktop.mac.plist |
Preferences | Remove. Selected by default. |
~/Library/Application Support/com.apple.sharedfilelist/com.apple.LSSharedFileList.ApplicationRecentDocuments/cn.qwenwork.desktop.mac.sfl4 |
The app's recent-documents list | Remove. Selected by default. |
Temporary caches for cn.qwenwork.desktop.mac and cn.qwenwork.desktop.mac.helper.GPU sit in your per-user cache folder (getconf DARWIN_USER_CACHE_DIR prints it), and Mole removes them with the app.
If you added QwenWork's extension to Chrome, remove it from Chrome's extensions page as well. The test did not install it.
Check the result
pgrep -il qwenwork
ls -ld "$HOME/.qwenworkcn" "$HOME/Library/Application Support/QwenWorkCN" "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/NativeMessagingHosts/com.qwen.work.cn.connector.json"
- No output from
pgrepmeans no QwenWork process is running. A printed line is a process that is still alive, often the helper; stop it in Activity Monitor. - A path printed by
lsstill exists. A surviving~/.qwenworkcnis expected if you kept it on purpose. No such file or directorymeans the path is gone. - Open System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions and check that no 千问办公 or QwenWork entry is left.
Account
Removing the app does not cancel a paid plan or close your QwenWork account. Sign out before you uninstall, as the official guide suggests.
What Mole lists
Mole selects the app, the preferences file, the recent-documents list, ~/Library/Caches/cn.qwenwork.desktop.mac, ~/Library/HTTPStorages/cn.qwenwork.desktop.mac, ~/Library/Logs/QwenWorkCN, the five folders inside QwenWorkCN listed above and the temporary caches. It lists ~/Library/Application Support/QwenWorkCN, ~/.qwenworkcn and the Chrome connector file for review without selecting them. The connector file is listed only while the QwenWorkCN folder is still there, because that folder is what ties the file to this app. Mole also removes the app's login item after the uninstall.
These defaults assume “Remove data and settings with apps” in General › Cleaning is off. With it on, Mole also ticks those three review rows.
What this test covered
On October 20, 2026, the test installed 千问办公 1.3.2 for Apple silicon from the official download, launched it without signing in, and removed it with a source-built Mole with every review row ticked. Mole moved 13 rows and the app to the Trash. The app did not respond to Quit or Force Quit and stopped only when killed, and its helper and crash reporter had to be stopped again from the Trash. Mole removed the login item the app had registered on first launch. After that run ~/.qwenworkcn and the Chrome connector file were still in place; Mole now lists both, and a build with those rules was checked by putting the app back from the Trash: it listed ~/.qwenworkcn, listed the connector file together with the QwenWorkCN folder, and moved all of them. Status showed one 千问办公 row with 12 processes. The app ships an Electron update feed; no update was run. A signed-in account, cloud task sync, the Chrome extension and Mole's notarized release build were not tested.
