How to uninstall Qingg on Mac

Qingg (清歌输入法) is an input method, so switch to another working input source before removing it. Save wanted custom settings and dictionaries through the controls available in your installation, then quit it before copying local data. Keep the observed ~/Library/Application Support/Qingg until its contents have been checked.

    Remove the input method

If Qingg is enabled, open System Settings > Keyboard > Text Input > Edit and remove only its input-source entry, following Apple's Input Sources settings. Keep other input sources. The recorded copy was at ~/Library/Input Methods/Qingg.app; remove only the actual Qingg app after saving data and stopping its use.

For a Homebrew installation, the current qingg cask installs a package and supports:

    brew uninstall --cask qingg

Ordinary uninstall acts on the com.aodaren.Qingg.pkg receipt, so it is a package removal rather than simply trashing the copied app. Zap also targets Application Support/com.aodaren.inputmethod.Qingg and Qingg, matching caches and the exact preference plist. Direct --zap ignores Mole selections and can remove the data kept during the recorded test.

    Check the copied location

    ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Input Methods/Qingg.app"
    ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Qingg"

Printed paths remain. No such file or directory means only those exact locations are absent; permission errors leave them unknown. These checks do not establish that another package location or an enabled input source is gone.

    What Mole lists

The selected app and exact bundle-identifier support, cache and preference leaves are normally checked when present and unprotected. The display-name Qingg support folder is reviewed and unchecked by default. Remove data and settings with apps is off by default; enabling it may include eligible reviewed data, so uncheck data you want to keep.

    What this test covered

On September 22, 2026, an app copied from the official package was removed using the official Mole release, along with selected bundle-identifier data. The Qingg display-name support folder remained unchecked. The installer was not run; full package removal, enabled input-source changes and custom dictionary recovery were not tested.

If Mac apps leave files behind after uninstalling, try Mole. I've personally tested and inspected 799 Mac apps.
