How to uninstall Pets Therapy on Mac
Quit Pets Therapy to stop its desktop pets before removing the Mac App Store app. The official site describes virtual pets displayed on your desktop; dismissing a pet is not proof that the app has quit. Back up local app state if you want to keep your choices for a reinstall.
Quit and remove
Quit Pets Therapy, then check Activity Monitor for its remaining process. Copy the existing ~/Library/Containers/it.curzel.pets to a private backup and verify it before deleting local state. Move Pets Therapy.app from Applications to the Trash in Finder.
Check System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions for an unwanted Pets Therapy entry. The tested bundle contained a LaunchAtLogin helper; removing the app and checking its login entry are separate steps.
Review its recorded sandbox data
The local test identified ~/Library/Containers/it.curzel.pets and ~/Library/Application Scripts/it.curzel.pets. Use Finder's Go › Go to Folder to inspect them after quitting. Keep the container until wanted state is safely backed up, then trash only the unwanted app-specific entries, leaving their parent directories intact. A folder's presence does not prove that its settings can be restored.
Check the result
pgrep -ifl 'Pets Therapy'
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Containers/it.curzel.pets"
No process result means this pattern found no matching arguments; inspect a surviving match before quitting it. A printed folder still exists, expected if retained. A missing-path error means that exact folder is absent; permission and command errors leave the result unknown.
What Mole lists
The main container and scripts folder are selected by default. Copy wanted state and uncheck the container before removal if you want to keep it. The default-off app-data option does not change those exact main-app defaults, and it does not manage login-item settings for you.
What this test covered
The App Store app was removed on September 21 and retested on September 26, 2026. The later record identified version 4.0.1 and confirmed app and selected sandbox-data removal. Persistent pet-state recovery, purchase restoration and long-running desktop behavior were not tested.
