How to uninstall Otty on Mac
Save wanted terminal work and finish running agent tasks before removing Otty. The current cask identifies it as a terminal for code agents. Quit Otty, then copy wanted contents of ~/.config/otty and ~/Library/Application Support/io.appmakes.otty to a checked backup.
Remove the app and its managed launcher
For Homebrew:
brew uninstall --cask otty
Ordinary removal handles the app, its managed otty launcher and generated shell completions. Zap additionally targets .config/otty, exact support, caches, HTTP storage, preference and WebKit leaves, plus Caches/otty. Direct --zap ignores Mole choices.
For an independent app copy, move Otty.app from Applications to the Trash after quitting and checking saved work. The recorded installation also wrote Otty-marked hooks into other agents' settings. App removal does not edit those settings. Keep unrelated hooks and configuration; this page has no verified current vendor hook-removal flow, so confirm that flow before changing another agent's configuration.
ls -ld "/Applications/Otty.app"
ls -ld "$HOME/.config/otty"
Printed paths remain. Missing-path errors apply only to these locations; permission errors leave them unknown. These checks do not prove that command launchers or external agent hooks are gone.
What Mole lists
The selected app and exact identifier data are normally checked when present and unprotected. The product's .config/otty user-data rule is reviewed and unchecked by default. Remove data and settings with apps is off by default; eligible reviewed data can be included when enabled, while other agents' configuration and archives stay separate. Mole does not rewrite their hook files.
What this test covered
The official app and selected local data, including the reviewed Otty configuration, were removed with source-built Mole on September 23, 2026. Some temporary data remained. Otty hooks in external agent configuration were still present afterward and were handled manually on September 25. The current vendor hook-disable flow, populated agent recovery and Homebrew-managed uninstall were not tested.
