How to uninstall mInstaller on Mac
Save video projects and wanted plugin presets before removing mInstaller. The official product instructions use a product's Product Menu > Uninstall for purchased products. If removing those products too, do so while mInstaller is still installed; removing the manager alone is not plugin removal. Subscription-plan products use mExtension and should be reviewed separately.
Remove the manager after product decisions
Quit mInstaller, then move mInstaller.app from Applications to the Trash. Keep editing projects and products still needed by the video editor. For Homebrew, the current cask supports:
brew uninstall --cask minstaller
Ordinary removal removes the manager. Zap additionally targets Application Support/mInstaller, Caches/mInstaller, exact HTTP storage and preference data. Direct --zap ignores Mole choices and does not remove every installed MotionVFX product.
ls -ld "/Applications/mInstaller.app"
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Application Support/mInstaller"
Printed paths remain. Missing-path errors apply only to these locations; permission errors leave them unknown. These checks do not verify installed plugins, licenses or editing-project recovery.
What Mole lists
The selected app and exact preference/HTTP leaves are normally checked when present and unprotected. Display-name support and cache need review and are unchecked by default. Remove data and settings with apps is off by default; eligible reviewed data may be included when enabled, while other products and shared stores stay separate.
What this test covered
The official manager and selected local data were removed with source-built Mole on October 3, 2026. The selected original paths were absent afterward. Product uninstall, license changes, populated preset recovery and Homebrew-managed removal were not tested.
