How to uninstall Minimal Twitter on Mac
Record the Minimal Theme for Twitter / X customizations you want to reuse before removing the Safari extension. This is the Mac App Store product tested as Minimal Twitter, which changes the X interface rather than owning your X account. Developer’s listing
Disable the extension and remove its app
In Safari › Settings › Extensions, deselect this extension’s checkbox. Apple’s extension instructions also provide Uninstall or removal of its containing app. Quit the companion app and Safari before copying local settings. In Finder, inspect ~/Library/Containers/com.typefully.minimal-twitter and ~/Library/Containers/com.typefully.minimal-twitter.Extension, copy wanted contents and check the backup, then move Minimal Twitter.app from Applications to the Trash. Keep Safari profiles and your X account; do not remove the Safari container to reset one extension.
Check the result
ls -ld "/Applications/Minimal Twitter.app"
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Containers/com.typefully.minimal-twitter" "$HOME/Library/Containers/com.typefully.minimal-twitter.Extension"
Printed paths remain. A missing-path error concerns only that exact item; permission errors leave it unknown. Reopen Safari and inspect the same Extensions list, refreshing an open webpage if needed. These checks do not establish the state of an extension on another synced device or your X account.
What Mole lists
The main container and its confirmed bundled extension container are selected by default when present and unprotected. The corresponding scripts ~/Library/Application Scripts/com.typefully.minimal-twitter and ~/Library/Application Scripts/com.typefully.minimal-twitter.Extension are also selected. Uncheck local settings you want to keep. Remove data and settings with apps is off by default; opting in includes eligible reviewed data, while protected browser profiles retain their individual boundaries.
What this test covered
The Mac App Store app was removed on September 21, 2026, initially leaving a denied main container and an unchecked extension container. A September 26 repeat with a source-built Mole removed the app, both containers and selected scripts and caches. The Safari extension was not enabled in the original test, and this does not verify every browser integration, synced device or account action.
