How to uninstall macSKK on Mac
Before removing macSKK, use its input menu's ユーザー辞書を今すぐ保存 command to save current user-dictionary entries. The official dictionary guide places the user dictionary at ~/Library/Containers/net.mtgto.inputmethod.macSKK/Data/Documents/Dictionaries/skk-jisyo.utf8. Save first, stop using macSKK, then copy that file and wanted dictionaries to a backup and open the copies to check them.
Follow the input-method removal flow
The official uninstall guide removes macSKK's ひらがな and ABC input-source entries in Keyboard settings before removing its app. Switch to another input source and remove only the entries belonging to macSKK; keep similarly named entries from other input methods.
A complete official installation places the app at /Library/Input Methods/macSKK.app. The recorded test copied the app to ~/Library/Input Methods/macSKK.app instead. Remove the actual macSKK app in your installation after saving and checking dictionaries. The main container holds settings and dictionaries; keep it unless resetting that data intentionally.
For Homebrew, the current cask supports:
brew uninstall --cask macskk
Ordinary uninstall quits the input method, FetchUpdateService and SKKServClient, then handles both app and dictionary package receipts. Zap also targets the exact Application Scripts folder and main container, including its user dictionary. --zap ignores Mole selections; verify the backup first.
Check both app locations
ls -ld "/Library/Input Methods/macSKK.app" "$HOME/Library/Input Methods/macSKK.app"
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Containers/net.mtgto.inputmethod.macSKK"
Printed paths remain. A missing-path error applies only to the named location; permission errors leave it unknown. A retained container is expected when keeping dictionaries. The checks do not verify input-source removal or restored dictionary entries.
What Mole lists
The selected app and exact main container and Application Scripts folder are normally checked when present and unprotected. Because the container holds dictionaries, uncheck it if keeping those contents. Remove data and settings with apps is off by default; shared dictionary locations and other input methods must stay separate.
What this test covered
The app copied from the official package and selected scripts and temporary cache were removed with the official Mole release on September 22, 2026. The main container remained after a permission failure. The installer was not run; enabled input sources, full package removal and populated dictionary recovery were not tested.
