How to uninstall iWallpaper on Mac
Save custom wallpaper images and settings before removing iWallpaper (我的壁纸). Its publisher's listing describes per-display choices and CloudKit-backed favorites; a sync cache is not an independent copy of wanted wallpaper files. This guide covers the Mac App Store app recorded as iwallpaper.app.
Stop the wallpaper app
If using iCloud and another synced Mac is available, check wanted favorites there. Preserve original custom images outside every sync root and removal folder. Quit iWallpaper and any attributed iwallpaperhelper process, then copy the existing main container below to an independent backup and verify it before clearing local settings.
Move iwallpaper.app from Applications to the Trash in Finder. Check System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions for an unwanted wallpaper helper, and choose a replacement wallpaper in macOS if needed. Keep your original images.
Review recorded local data
The test identified ~/Library/Containers/com.macosgame.iwallpaper, ~/Library/Application Scripts/com.macosgame.iwallpaper and ~/Library/Caches/CloudKit/com.macosgame.iwallpaper. The container holds local app state; keep it until wanted settings are backed up. The app-specific CloudKit cache is separate from the cloud data it helps synchronize.
Open existing entries through Finder's Go › Go to Folder after quitting and remove only unwanted confirmed-owned data, keeping parent directories and other wallpaper apps' files.
Check the result
pgrep -ifl 'iwallpaper|MyWallpaper'
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Containers/com.macosgame.iwallpaper"
No process match means no arguments matched these names; identify a surviving match before quitting it. A printed container remains, expected if retained. A missing-path error means that exact folder is absent; permissions or command errors are inconclusive. Keeping original wallpaper images is intentional.
What Mole lists
The main container, scripts folder, app-specific CloudKit cache and attributable temporary entries are selected by default. Back up or uncheck wanted local state. The optional app-data setting does not change those exact-main-app defaults, and app removal does not itself manage macOS login-item or wallpaper preferences.
What this test covered
The Mac App Store 1.1.3 app was removed on September 21 and retested on September 26, 2026. The later run removed the app and selected original data paths. Custom wallpapers, multi-display settings restoration, iCloud favorites and long-running wallpaper behavior were not tested.
