How to uninstall iShot on Mac
Save iShot screenshots and recordings before removing the free Mac App Store edition. Keep your actual save folders and copy wanted captures outside sync/removal roots. The vendor's saved-screenshot guide describes opening saved captures in Finder; do not assume they all live in app support data.
Preserve settings and quit
Finish capture and save files first, then quit iShot. Copy wanted existing ~/Library/Containers/cn.better365.ishot outside removal folders and verify it before clearing local settings. Keep the broader ~/Library/Group Containers/4K6FWZU8C4.group.cn.better365 store and other Better365 products' data rather than deleting that vendor group wholesale.
After backup, follow Apple's Finder removal instructions and move iShot.app from Applications to the Trash. Review only its owned login entry in System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions if present; iShot Pro is a separate edition from this recorded free-app test.
Check the result
pgrep -ifl ishot
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Containers/cn.better365.ishot" "$HOME/Library/Containers/cn.better365.iShotHelper" "$HOME/Library/Group Containers/4K6FWZU8C4.group.cn.better365"
No process match means no arguments matched this pattern. Printed containers or a group remain, expected if deliberately kept. Missing-path errors apply only to those entries; other errors are inconclusive and do not verify saved-capture recovery or absence of every login registration.
What Mole lists
The exact main container and Application Scripts rows are selected by default, so back up and uncheck wanted settings. The bundled cn.better365.iShotHelper is a different sibling ID, so its container/scripts need review rather than inheriting main selection. Reviewed eligible unshared app data starts unchecked with Remove data and settings with apps off and may be preselected when enabled. The broader vendor group still needs its own ownership review.
What this test covered
The free Mac App Store iShot 2.6.9 app removal was recorded on September 23, 2026 and rechecked on September 26. The app, main/helper container and scripts plus selected temporary caches were removed. Broader Better365 group data remained in the later follow-up. Screenshot/recording recovery, Pro removal and Homebrew were not tested.
