How to uninstall iPic Mover on Mac
Keep your Markdown files and original images before removing iPic Mover. The vendor's migration guide says it uploads images through iPic, rewrites Markdown image links and can optionally delete local images after upload. Removing the migration tool does not undo those earlier changes. This covers the Mac App Store edition; iPic is a separate app.
Finish migration and save files
Finish or stop pending migrations, check the upload results and open wanted Markdown copies with their images. Copy documents and remaining local images outside every sync root and removal folder. Keep any hosted images your posts still reference, and keep iPic if you still use it for uploading.
Quit iPic Mover and copy the existing ~/Library/Containers/net.toolinbox.iPicMover to a private backup if retaining local state, then verify the copy before clearing originals. Move iPic Mover.app from Applications to the Trash in Finder.
Review recorded local data
The test identified ~/Library/Containers/net.toolinbox.iPicMover and ~/Library/Application Scripts/net.toolinbox.iPicMover. Inspect them through Finder's Go › Go to Folder after quitting, and trash only unwanted confirmed-owned entries after checking your backups. Keep parent directories, iPic's own data, Markdown source folders and remote image-host accounts.
Check the result
pgrep -ifl 'iPic Mover'
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Containers/net.toolinbox.iPicMover"
No process match means no arguments matched that name; identify a surviving match before quitting it. A printed folder still exists, expected if retained. A missing-path error means that exact folder is absent; other errors leave its state unknown. This does not verify the images linked in your published posts, so inspect those posts separately.
What Mole lists
The main container, scripts folder and exact app recent-document entry are selected by default. Back up or uncheck local state you want to retain. The optional app-data preference does not change these exact-main-app defaults, and these rows do not cover your source articles, separately installed iPic or hosted images.
What this test covered
The Mac App Store iPic Mover 1.2.1 was removed on September 21 and retested on September 26, 2026. The later run removed the app and selected original data paths. No image migration, hosting credentials, Markdown-link validation or backup restoration was tested.
