How to uninstall iBar on Mac
Record your menu-bar icon order, hiding choices and spacing before removing iBar. Developer’s listing
The developer documents layout changes in iBar Preferences › Menu Bar Layout. Keep the other menu-bar apps themselves and Apple’s system preferences; uninstalling this organizer does not require deleting them.
Quit and remove the Mac app
Quit iBar from its own menu. Open ~/Library/Containers/cn.better365.iBar in Finder’s Go › Go to Folder, copy wanted local contents and check the backup before resetting it. Then move iBar.app from Applications to the Trash.
The observed ~/Library/Group Containers/4K6FWZU8C4.group.cn.better365.iBar and ~/Library/Application Scripts/4K6FWZU8C4.group.cn.better365.iBar are separate group paths. Back up wanted data and keep them until ownership is confirmed; do not delete a better365 parent or FastZip data.
Check the result
ls -ld "/Applications/iBar.app"
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Containers/cn.better365.iBar"
Printed paths remain; No such file or directory means that exact item is absent, while permission errors leave it unknown. A retained container is expected when keeping settings; this does not verify independent devices or system preferences.
What Mole lists
The main container ~/Library/Containers/cn.better365.iBar is selected by default when present and unprotected. Uncheck it to keep local settings. The exact iBar group store and its group scripts listed above are also selected by default; uncheck them to retain their contents. Ownership checks may still refuse removal and keep them. Remove data and settings with apps is off by default; enabling it also selects eligible reviewed data, while shared and protected data keeps its boundaries.
What this test covered
The Mac App Store app was removed on September 21, 2026. Its container was not included while the initial scan was still running. A September 26 repeat with a source-built Mole removed the app and selected main data, but two group paths were retained by the ownership guard. This did not test menu-bar layout restoration.
