How to uninstall Dropover on Mac
Save anything you collected on Dropover shelves before removing the app, especially text or images that are not already saved as files. The official FAQ says a file dragged from Finder onto a shelf is only referenced, not copied or moved. Copy wanted content to a checked backup; a shelf is not the backup of its source files.
Quit and remove Dropover
Finish uploads and file actions, then quit the menu-bar app. Inspect ~/Library/Containers/me.damir.dropover-mac and ~/Library/Group Containers/D3Y7QS482H.group.me.damir.dropover-mac using Finder’s Go › Go to Folder. Copy wanted local shelf state and settings before deciding to reset them, check the copies, then move Dropover.app from Applications to the Trash. Keep original files and remote uploads separately; local removal does not delete a previously shared cloud copy.
Check the result
ls -ld "/Applications/Dropover.app"
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Containers/me.damir.dropover-mac" "$HOME/Library/Group Containers/D3Y7QS482H.group.me.damir.dropover-mac"
Printed paths remain. A missing-path error means that exact item is absent; permission errors leave it unknown. These checks do not inspect source files, uploaded links or every system index.
What Mole lists
The main container and exact Dropover group store above are selected by default when present and unprotected. Their main and group scripts are also selected, and the confirmed bundled ControlWidgetsExtension, DropoverShareExtension and widget-recent-shelves container and script rows are selected by default. Uncheck wanted shelf state; group removal still requires ownership checks. Remove data and settings with apps is off by default, and opting in includes eligible reviewed data while shared and protected items retain their boundaries.
What this test covered
The Mac App Store app was removed on September 21, 2026 while its initial container scan had not entered the removal plan. A September 26 repeat with a source-built Mole removed the app and selected main, group and extension rows. System-managed shortcut-index files remained. No populated shelf recovery, file-transfer operation or cloud-upload removal was tested.
