How to uninstall Coffee on Mac
Stop the active timer and export wanted time records to CSV, then open the export before removing Coffee. The developer’s App Store listing describes CSV export and iCloud storage. This guide covers the tested Mac App Store app. If iCloud syncing is enabled and you have another connected device, verify wanted records there before removing local data; copy the export outside any sync folder. Uninstalling does not delete your iCloud account.
Quit and remove Coffee
Quit Coffee from its menu-bar app. In Finder’s Go › Go to Folder, inspect ~/Library/Containers/co.trycoffee.mac, copy wanted local contents and check the backup before deciding to reset it. Then move Coffee.app from Applications to the Trash. Keep exported records and other time-tracking apps.
Check the result
ls -ld "/Applications/Coffee.app"
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Containers/co.trycoffee.mac"
Printed paths remain. No such file or directory means that exact item is absent; permission errors leave its state unknown. A retained container is expected when keeping local data; this check does not verify cloud records or every account copy.
What Mole lists
The exact main container ~/Library/Containers/co.trycoffee.mac and main scripts ~/Library/Application Scripts/co.trycoffee.mac are selected by default when present and unprotected. Uncheck data you want to retain. Remove data and settings with apps is off by default; opting in also selects eligible reviewed data, while shared and protected items keep their boundaries.
What this test covered
The Mac App Store app was removed on September 21, 2026, with its container initially retained after a system denial. A September 26 repeat using a source-built Mole removed the app and selected local rows. This does not verify time-record export or iCloud recovery or every possible leftover.
