How to uninstall ClashX on Mac
Before removing ClashX, save the proxy profiles and connection settings you still use, and keep another working connection available. This guide covers the copied Mac app, not ClashX Pro or other Clash-based clients.
Quit and remove ClashX
Quit ClashX from its menu-bar app, then move ClashX.app from Applications to the Trash using Apple’s Finder removal procedure. Keep other proxy clients and their profiles. The recorded removal left ClashX’s privileged proxy helper behind, so moving the app alone does not establish that the helper or system proxy settings are gone. This page covers the app bundle and the helper check below; it does not provide a verified helper-uninstall procedure. Do not delete files merely because their names contain clash.
Check the result
ls -ld "/Applications/ClashX.app"
launchctl print system/com.west2online.ClashX.ProxyConfigHelper
A listed app path or a printed launchd job still exists. No such file or directory concerns only that app path; a launchctl message that the service cannot be found concerns only this label. Permission errors leave the check unconfirmed. Neither command establishes the state of your network settings or other proxy clients.
What Mole lists
The app bundle is selected for removal by default after you select ClashX. Mole also lists attributable remnants found during the scan. Inspect the actual selections and retain profiles you need. The recorded root-owned helper was not removed by the app-removal operation; do not assume that a listed helper will be deleted.
What this test covered
The official Mac app was copied, launched and removed on September 21, 2026 without signing in or approving extra permissions. The helper initially remained, and a separate administrator-assisted action later unloaded and moved it. Some temporary WebKit data was denied by macOS. The app removal alone did not verify automatic helper removal, profile recovery or restoration of system proxy settings.
