How to uninstall Chatterfly on Mac
Save wanted Chatterfly input history and personal dictionary data before removal. The official site describes a voice-input product; finish dictation and switch to another working input source before quitting. Copy wanted contents from the observed ~/Library/Application Support/Chatterfly only after the app stops, then check the copy.
Remove the input method and its own agents
If enabled, remove only Chatterfly's entry from Keyboard > Text Input > Edit, following Apple's Input Sources settings. The recorded installation is /Library/Input Methods/Chatterfly.app and has two system-wide launch agents, not just a user Applications copy.
In Mole, review this app's confirmed startup agents and data, then use its quit-and-remove flow before removing the input-method bundle. The observed files are /Library/LaunchAgents/com.tencent.ChatterflyServices.plist and /Library/LaunchAgents/com.tencent.ChatterflyTaskManager.plist; removing a plist by itself does not stop a loaded service. Keep other input methods and the separate Chatterfly installer state.
ls -ld "/Library/Input Methods/Chatterfly.app"
ls -ld "/Library/LaunchAgents/com.tencent.ChatterflyServices.plist" "/Library/LaunchAgents/com.tencent.ChatterflyTaskManager.plist"
Printed paths remain. Missing-path errors apply only to those locations; permission errors leave them unknown. These checks do not establish that loaded agents stopped or that input sources and populated dictionaries were restored.
What Mole lists
The selected app is checked by default. Exact app-identifier data and confirmed own startup items can be checked, while display-name support and loose helper-name leaves need review; inspect actual selections and ownership. Remove data and settings with apps is off by default and may include eligible reviewed data when enabled. Installer state, shared stores and other input methods stay separate.
What this test covered
The app installed by the official installer was removed using official Mole on September 25 and official Preview Mole on October 3, 2026. The later run removed the selected app, both system launch-agent files and selected helper data; subsequent startup readback had no product row. Installer state stayed separate. Populated dictionary recovery, account deletion and complete Status helper-name aggregation were not verified.
