How to uninstall Bandwidth+ on Mac
Record wanted Bandwidth+ usage totals before resetting the app. Its current App Store publisher description says it measures traffic on the Mac running it, including local-network traffic, rather than being a router-wide record. Quit the menu-bar app before copying any wanted contents of ~/Library/Containers/au.id.haroldchu.mac.Bandwidth to a checked backup.
Remove the traffic counter
Move Bandwidth+.app from Applications to the Trash after saving wanted readings. Keep network configuration and other monitoring tools. Removing this counter does not reset the router or change a provider's billed usage.
ls -ld "/Applications/Bandwidth+.app"
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Containers/au.id.haroldchu.mac.Bandwidth"
Printed paths remain. Missing-path errors apply only to these locations; permission errors leave them unknown. These checks do not verify history restoration or measurements on other devices.
What Mole lists
The selected app, exact main container and scripts are normally checked when present and unprotected. Uncheck the container if keeping its state. The observed generated help leaf is distinct from the shared help-cache parent. Remove data and settings with apps is off by default; shared system caches and network configuration remain separate.
What this test covered
The maintainer-installed Mac App Store app and selected container, scripts and generated help data were removed with source-built Mole on October 4, 2026. Populated usage-history restoration, counter accuracy, Status and update behavior were not verified.
