How to uninstall Autodesk Fusion on Mac
Before uninstalling Autodesk Fusion, verify that cloud designs have synced. Copy or export wanted local, offline and unsynced designs elsewhere, then open the copies. This guide covers the Mac version installed with the official installer; an unsigned-in test does not prove that real designs are backed up.
Use the official removal flow
Save designs and quit Fusion. Open Autodesk Fusion Service Utility, choose Uninstall, and wait for it to finish before removing the installer or service utility. Autodesk’s service utility instructions
Fusion’s main app can live inside a webdeploy version directory in your user data, with an Applications entry acting as a launcher. Trashing one app icon does not establish a complete uninstall. Reset and Uninstall are separate service-utility actions; do not treat resetting as a way to preserve local designs.
Review remaining material
These locations were observed after the official installation. Inspect them with Shift + Command + G in Finder. Keep wanted contents and leave uncertain ownership alone.
| Path | Decision |
|---|---|
~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk |
May be shared by several Autodesk products. Do not delete the whole directory. |
~/.config/Autodesk |
Shared vendor configuration. Keep it while other Autodesk products remain. |
~/Library/Application Support/Fusion |
Local Fusion data. Check designs and offline material first. |
~/Library/Application Support/Fusion 360 CAM |
CAM-related directory. Review wanted material first. |
~/Library/Preferences/com.autodesk.FusionApp.plist |
Fusion preferences. Back them up if wanted. |
Check the result
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/webdeploy/production"
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Fusion" "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Fusion 360 CAM"
An ls listing means a path remains, not necessarily a runnable Fusion installation. No such file means it is absent; Permission denied leaves it unverified. Do not bulk-delete by directory name. The old Fusion launcher should no longer start the removed app, but do not rerun the installer as a verification step.
If you installed it with Homebrew
brew uninstall --cask autodesk-fusion
The Homebrew cask invokes the official streamer uninstaller retained in its installation record and handles its managed launchers. This is not merely app removal. Save wanted designs first and wait for uninstall completion.
Adding --zap directly targets vendor locations including ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk, ~/.config/Autodesk and /Users/Shared/Autodesk, plus Fusion data, caches and preferences. It does not consult Mole’s checkboxes. Do not use zap while other Autodesk products or unbacked-up designs remain. Mole uses zap only when the complete scope passes review; shared, unchecked or out-of-boundary paths suppress it.
Uninstalling does not cancel an Autodesk subscription or delete the cloud account. Handle any wanted subscription or account changes separately in your Autodesk account.
What Mole lists
Mole has rules for eligible old Fusion version caches. That is not the complete official uninstall flow. This test did not establish complete Fusion removal through Mole or old-version cleanup with two versions installed. The whole Autodesk data directory is not ordinary cache.
What this test covered
The official Fusion 2705.1.30 installer was tested on October 8, 2026. The app reached its sign-in screen. After the app and related processes exited, its bundled official uninstaller completed removal. Newly created test data with confirmed ownership was then cleaned through Finder and the specified locations were rechecked. No account was signed in, no designs were created, and cloud sync, Status and update-channel detection were not tested.
