How to uninstall Aqua Voice on Mac

Save wanted dictated text before removing Aqua Voice. Its CLI documentation says dictionary, replacements and custom instructions sync through your Aqua account, so local app removal is separate from changing those account settings or cancelling a subscription.

    Back up and quit

If you use the CLI, export wanted dictionary and replacements with aqua dict export and aqua replacements export, saving their output outside removal folders; aqua instructions get prints custom instructions for a separate saved copy. Verify those copies and the account state on another available signed-in device when needed. Finish recording, save the resulting text, stop connected CLI/agent tasks and quit Aqua Voice, then copy wanted existing ~/Library/Application Support/Aqua Voice outside all sync and removal roots before moving Aqua Voice.app from Applications to the Trash in Finder.

    Independent CLI

The official CLI installer uses ~/.local/bin/aqua by default, with a custom AQUA_INSTALL_DIR allowed. App removal does not remove that standalone binary. If you want the CLI gone too, finish exports first, use aqua auth logout to sign that CLI out, then inspect command -v aqua and remove only the owned binary at its actual location in Finder. Keep other binaries and shared PATH entries. If installed through the documented tap, uninstall its separate package with brew uninstall aqua-voice/tap/aqua instead. This does not delete your Aqua account.

If you installed it with Homebrew

The app cask declares no separate helper uninstall step, and removes its managed app without zap:

    brew uninstall --cask aqua-voice

Zap additionally removes ~/Library/Application Support/Aqua Voice, ~/Library/Caches/com.electron.aqua-voice and ~/Library/Logs/Aqua Voice. Copy wanted state first. Direct brew uninstall --cask --zap aqua-voice ignores Mole's checkboxes; Mole uses zap only when its whole scope passes selection, ownership and safety checks, otherwise selected remnants use its own Trash flow. Neither command is the independent CLI uninstall or proof that an activated system extension has gone.

    Check the result

    pgrep -ifl 'Aqua Voice|aqua-voice'
    command -v aqua
    ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Aqua Voice"
    systemextensionsctl list

No process match means no arguments matched that pattern, not that the separate aqua command is absent. command -v only resolves a PATH entry; no output means none resolves in this shell. A printed support folder remains. The system-extension command lists registered extensions: inspect the actual publisher and identifier, without removing another product's entry. A missing-path error concerns that folder only; other read errors are inconclusive. These checks do not cancel billing or verify cloud recovery.

    What Mole lists

The display-name support folder starts unchecked with Remove data and settings with apps off; enabling it can preselect eligible unshared app data. Exact app-ID cache rows can be selected by default, while display-name logs need review. Keep wanted state unchecked after backing it up. A listed app does not prove removal of the independent CLI, updater job or an activated system extension.

    What this test covered

On September 22, 2026, the official app copy updated itself from 0.17.2 to 0.19.14, then the app and selected support folder were removed. Its bundled camera system extension was not approved or registered. A non-running updater job remained submitted after removal. Activated-extension removal, CLI cleanup, account restoration and Homebrew were not tested.

If Mac apps leave files behind after uninstalling, try Mole. I've personally tested and inspected 799 Mac apps.
