How to uninstall Affinity Publisher 1 on Mac
Save Publisher V1 layouts and their linked images and fonts before removal. The current legacy cask identifies this edition separately from Publisher 2 and Canva's Affinity. Check that copied projects retain needed external resources, then close documents and quit V1.
Remove Publisher V1
Move Affinity Publisher.app from Applications to the Trash after checking saved projects. Keep source images, fonts and other Affinity editions. For Homebrew V1:
brew uninstall --cask affinity-publisher@1
Ordinary removal removes the V1 app. Zap additionally targets Application Support/Affinity Publisher, its exact cache and saved state. Direct --zap ignores Mole selections and may reset local resources; do not replace this token with Publisher 2's cask.
ls -ld "/Applications/Affinity Publisher.app"
ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Affinity Publisher"
Printed paths remain. Missing-path errors apply only to these locations; permission errors leave them unknown. Neither check verifies linked project resources or font availability.
What Mole lists
The selected app is checked by default. Exact identifier leaves can be checked when present and unprotected, while display-name support needs review and is unchecked by default. Remove data and settings with apps is off by default and may include eligible reviewed data when enabled. Shared fonts, project assets and other editions stay separate.
What this test covered
The official Publisher V1 app was removed with source-built Mole on October 3, 2026. Launch stopped at its loader without reaching an interactive screen; only the app was listed and removed. Layout editing, populated resource recovery, Status and Homebrew-managed uninstall were not tested.
