How to uninstall Xigua Video on Windows
Check local downloads and account access before uninstalling Xigua Video. An offline video stored by the client is not automatically an independently playable backup.
Save your data and quit
Finish or cancel your downloads, note the configured download location and save any personal files outside the client’s data directory. Close the window and any tray instance. Removing the Windows client does not remove online uploads or cancel a separate membership.
Uninstall the tested package
In Windows 11, open Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find Xigua Video, and choose Uninstall. In Windows 10, use Settings › Apps › Apps & features. Keep the installed program folder intact until its uninstaller finishes. If this was the winget package, first confirm its exact identity:
winget list --id ByteDance.XiguaVideo --exact
If the successful query shows the intended installation, remove that package:
winget uninstall --id ByteDance.XiguaVideo --exact
This follows the package’s registered removal method; portable packages use their package-manager removal instead. An error or a missing winget match is not proof that the app is absent: check the Windows app list and the original installation method. Follow any vendor confirmation or restart request after saving other work. See Microsoft’s uninstall command documentation.
Data and components to check
The following locations or components need separate decisions. A remaining folder is not automatically disposable.
| Location or component | What to keep or check |
|---|---|
| Configured video download location | Inspect actual files and playback requirements before deleting downloads. |
| Client updater download directory | The test found a separate updater cache. It is distinct from wanted videos and account data. |
See Xigua Video’s official website.
Check the outcome
winget list --id ByteDance.XiguaVideo --exact
A successful package query with no matching row means that package registration was not found. A matching row means it still exists; an error leaves the result unknown. Keep deliberately retained data. Check Task Manager for a process whose executable belongs to this installation, and distinguish another version or a separate companion app before acting.
What Mole lists
The test checked the program folder, cache subfolders, shortcuts and updater folder. A later scan removed the identified updater cache. A system-wide installation registry key and an empty program folder remained.
What this test covered
The machine-wide NSIS Xigua Video 1.1.1 package was launched and removed. The updater-cache correction was exercised on the recorded residue. Actual upgrading, signed-in data recovery and offline-video portability were not tested.
These results are from a development build of Mole. Other released builds were not individually tested.
