How to uninstall Xiaomi MIUI+ on Windows
MIUI+ (Xiaomi's phone-to-PC app) keeps your phone's data on the phone and your Xiaomi account; files you dragged from the phone to this PC stay wherever you saved them. The part to plan for is what it installs alongside itself: a shared Xiaomi component called MiService, which its uninstaller does not remove. This guide covers MIUI+ installed machine-wide from the Xiaomi.MIUI+ winget package.
Quit MIUI+ first
MIUI+ starts at sign-in through a machine-wide startup entry, shown in Settings › Apps › Startup, and runs a service, MAFSvr, which shows in Mole's Startup list. Disconnect your phone, quit MIUI+ from its tray icon, and check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for AIoT or MiScreenShareGuide still listed before you uninstall.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find MIUI+, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id Xiaomi.MIUI+
The app is installed machine-wide, so Windows asks for administrator access. Xiaomi's uninstaller opens its own window: click Uninstall, confirm that MIUI+ will no longer be usable, click Complete, and then choose whether to restart now or later. It removes the program folder under Program Files\MI\AIoT, the startup entry, the MAFSvr service and the shortcuts.
What stays after the uninstall
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| MiService, with its own entry in Settings › Apps › Installed apps | A Xiaomi background service installed with MIUI+, still set to start automatically | Uninstall it from Installed apps if no other Xiaomi app on this PC needs it |
%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Timi Personal Computing\MiService and %ProgramData%\Timi Personal Computing\MiService |
MiService's program and data | Its own uninstaller handles these |
The MiService shortcut in the Start Menu |
MiService's shortcut | Goes with MiService |
%ProgramData%\MI |
Privacy agreement state and file-drop service data | Safe to remove once no Xiaomi app is installed |
%APPDATA%\MI |
Per-user Xiaomi app data | Safe to remove once no Xiaomi app is installed |
HKCU\Software\MI, HKCU\Software\Mi_SSO and HKCU\Software\Timi Personal Computing |
Settings and Xiaomi sign-in keys | Safe to remove once no Xiaomi app is installed |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\onetrack |
A usage statistics data file | Safe to remove once no Xiaomi app is installed |
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process AIoT, MiScreenShareGuide -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id Xiaomi.MIUI+
Test-Path "$env:ProgramFiles\MI\AIoT"
Get-CimInstance Win32_Service | Where-Object PathName -like "*Timi Personal Computing*"
Test-Path "$env:ProgramData\MI"
Test-Path "HKCU:\Software\Mi_SSO"
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. - A completed
winget listquery with no match means the package record is gone; a matching row means the uninstall did not finish. Test-PathonAIoTreturningFalsemeans the program folder is gone.- A service listed by
Get-CimInstanceis MiService, still installed; uninstall it separately if you do not need it. - The last two returning
Truemean Xiaomi's shared data and sign-in key are still there.
If you installed it with winget
winget uninstall runs the same Xiaomi uninstaller Settings › Apps uses, with the same window; it does not remove MiService or the shared Xiaomi folders.
Account
Uninstalling does not sign you out of your Xiaomi account.
What Mole lists
For MIUI+ installed machine-wide from winget:
- The Start Menu shortcut in the
小米folder and the public desktop shortcut are selected by default; in this test the uninstaller had already deleted both. - MiService and the shared Xiaomi folders and keys above are not listed with MIUI+, since other Xiaomi apps use them.
What this test covered
Tested on September 27, 2026 with MIUI+ 2.5.5.643 installed through winget, machine scope, and removed with Xiaomi's own uninstaller window, choosing to restart later. The MAFSvr service was still running, so it was stopped before the uninstaller ran. Not verified: a connected phone, or a signed-in Xiaomi account.
