How to uninstall Wave Terminal on Windows
This guide covers the official Wave Terminal 0.14.5 x64 machine MSI installer, registered as Wave 0.14.5.0.
Back up terminal data first
Back up %LOCALAPPDATA%\waveterm before removing it. Mole lists it as personal data, unchecked by default and excluded from bulk data selection.
Uninstall the app
Quit Wave, then uninstall it from Windows Settings. The measured program directory was %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\waveterm. Its MSI component mapping is used for size, icons and processes, not as an automatic registry deletion anchor.
Check the result
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Programs\waveterm"
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\waveterm"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\Wave"
The program and selected roaming preferences were absent; the unselected personal store remained. A query error does not prove absence.
What Mole lists
Regenerable Electron caches and shortcuts are selected by default. Roaming preferences are ordinary unchecked Review rows. The local terminal store stays unchecked after Select all for ordinary data.
What this test covered
Tested on October 7, 2026, in a Windows 11 ARM64 VM with a source-built Mole. The real main window, installed-exe icon, measured size, Status, Startup and review were observed. One vendor removal completed with eight selected outcomes: one Removed and seven Missing. Independent registration, program and user/SYSTEM process readbacks confirmed removal. All 17 ordinary files in the unselected store retained their hashes; its reparse socket endpoint was not read or hashed. No terminal command, SSH connection, AI configuration or login was performed. A complete provider check offered no Wave update, which proves neither latest version nor an upgrade. External uninstall, recovery and the released Mole package were not tested.
