How to uninstall UGREEN NAS on Windows
UGREEN NAS (绿联私有云) is the desktop client for a UGREEN NAS; your files live on the NAS itself, so uninstalling the client never touches them. Files you downloaded to this PC stay where you saved them. This guide covers the client installed machine-wide from the UGREEN.UGREENNAS winget package.
Quit the client first
Let any transfer finish, then quit the client from its window or tray icon. It runs several UGREEN_Nas.exe processes at once; check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) that none is still listed before you uninstall. The client added no startup item in this test.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find the UGREEN NAS client, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id UGREEN.UGREENNAS
The uninstaller asks for administrator access, since the client was installed for all users.
Where the data lives
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
Program Files (x86)\UGREEN_Nas |
Program files | The uninstaller removes it |
%APPDATA%\UGREEN_Nas |
Login, settings and local data of the client | Keep it if you plan to reinstall; otherwise remove it |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\UGREEN_Nas-updater |
Downloaded update installers | Safe to remove |
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Ugreen_Nas |
A machine-wide key the installer writes | Harmless once the client is gone; leave it unless you are comfortable editing HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE |
| Public Start Menu and desktop shortcuts | Shortcuts for all users | The uninstaller removes them |
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process UGREEN_Nas -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id UGREEN.UGREENNAS
Test-Path "${env:ProgramFiles(x86)}\UGREEN_Nas"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\UGREEN_Nas"
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\UGREEN_Nas-updater"
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. - A completed
winget listquery with no match means the package record is gone; a matching row means the uninstall did not finish. - The first
Test-PathreturningFalsemeans the program folder is gone;Truemeans files remain there. Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\UGREEN_Nas"returningTruemeans the client's login and settings are still there, which is expected unless you removed them yourself.- The updater folder returning
Truemeans downloaded installers are still there; it is safe to remove.
Account
Uninstalling does not remove this PC from your UGREEN account's signed-in devices or change anything on the NAS. Manage devices and users from the NAS itself.
What Mole lists
For the UGREEN NAS client installed machine-wide from winget:
- The program folder goes with the app row. The public Start Menu and desktop shortcuts and a row grouping Windows' own records of when you opened the program are selected by default.
%APPDATA%\UGREEN_Nasis listed but not selected.%LOCALAPPDATA%\UGREEN_Nas-updater, which holds only downloaded installers, is selected by default.- Machine-wide registry keys under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEare never listed.
What this test covered
Tested on 2026-09-28 with the UGREEN NAS client 6.2.0 installed through winget, machine-wide, without signing in or connecting to a NAS. The NSIS uninstaller ran silently, and every listed row was ticked and removed in this test. Not verified: a signed-in account, a connected NAS, or sync and backup tasks.
