How to uninstall Tencent Meeting on Windows
Save any local meeting recordings, chat exports or shared files you want to keep before removing Tencent Meeting (腾讯会议): they live wherever you chose to save them during a meeting, commonly Downloads or Documents, not inside the app's own data. This guide covers Tencent Meeting installed machine-wide from the Tencent.TencentMeeting winget package.
Quit Tencent Meeting first
Leave or end any meeting, then quit Tencent Meeting from its own window or tray icon. Check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) to confirm nothing from Tencent Meeting is still running before you uninstall.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find 腾讯会议, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id Tencent.TencentMeeting
Where the data lives
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
%APPDATA%\Tencent\WeMeet |
Settings and local meeting data | Back this up if you want the same setup after reinstalling |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Tencent\Wemeet |
Cache and logs | Safe to remove once the app is gone |
%APPDATA%\WeMeetApp |
Support data for the app | Keep if you may reinstall |
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Tencent\WeMeet |
Registry settings | Keep if you may reinstall |
Tencent Meeting also writes to %APPDATA%\Tencent\beacon and %APPDATA%\xmagic\data, a shared analytics component and a shared camera-effects component other Tencent apps on this PC also use; removing those is not part of removing Tencent Meeting, and Mole leaves them alone.
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process | Where-Object { $_.Path -like "*Tencent\WeMeet*" }
winget list --id Tencent.TencentMeeting
Test-Path "$env:ProgramFiles\Tencent\WeMeet"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\Tencent\WeMeet"
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. - A completed
winget listquery with no match means the package record is gone; a matching row means the uninstall did not finish. - The first
Test-PathreturningFalsemeans the program folder is gone;Truemeans files remain there. Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\Tencent\WeMeet"returningTruemeans your settings and local meeting data are still there, which is expected unless you removed them yourself.
If you installed it with winget
winget uninstall runs the same uninstaller Settings › Apps uses and removes the same program files; it does not touch %APPDATA%\Tencent\WeMeet, %LOCALAPPDATA%\Tencent\Wemeet or %APPDATA%\WeMeetApp on its own.
Account and subscription
Uninstalling does not sign you out of your Tencent Meeting account, cancel a paid plan, or delete meetings and recordings stored in Tencent's cloud. Manage those at meeting.tencent.com.
