How to uninstall Tencent DeskGo on Windows
Keep desktop documents and layout information before uninstalling Tencent DeskGo. A saved arrangement can be personal data even when its filename looks like an ordinary configuration file.
Save your data and quit
Locate important files in File Explorer and copy them outside the organizer’s managed area before exiting. Keep an image or record of the layout if you need to recreate it. Follow the standalone DeskGo uninstaller, leaving other Tencent applications installed.
Uninstall the tested package
In Windows 11, open Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find Tencent DeskGo, and choose Uninstall. In Windows 10, use Settings › Apps › Apps & features. Keep the installed program folder intact until its uninstaller finishes. If this was the winget package, first confirm its exact identity:
winget list --id Tencent.DeskGo --exact
If the successful query shows the intended installation, remove that package:
winget uninstall --id Tencent.DeskGo --exact
This follows the package’s registered removal method; portable packages use their package-manager removal instead. An error or a missing winget match is not proof that the app is absent: check the Windows app list and the original installation method. Follow any vendor confirmation or restart request after saving other work. See Microsoft’s uninstall command documentation.
Data and components to check
The following locations or components need separate decisions. A remaining folder is not automatically disposable.
| Location or component | What to keep or check |
|---|---|
| ConFile.dat and Map2File.dat | The test retained these because they may contain desktop layout data. Keep the actual files found on this installation; do not search-and-delete every file with these names. |
| Tencent shared folders and updater components | Not every child belongs to DeskGo; leave shared components unless independently identified and retired. |
See Tencent DeskGo’s official documentation.
Check the outcome
winget list --id Tencent.DeskGo --exact
A successful package query with no matching row means that package registration was not found. A matching row means it still exists; an error leaves the result unknown. Keep deliberately retained data. Check Task Manager for a process whose executable belongs to this installation, and distinguish another version or a separate companion app before acting.
What Mole lists
The recorded review removed app-specific data and settings that were explicitly selected; its shortcut was already gone. Possible layout files, shared product containers, SDKs, update components and empty vendor parents were retained.
What this test covered
Tencent DeskGo 4.3.1832.127 was removed from a machine-wide installation through its own confirmation and completion pages. The removal reported restart without restarting the test system. Personal layout recovery and actual upgrading were not verified.
These results are from a development build of Mole. Other released builds were not individually tested.
