How to uninstall Spyder on Windows
This record covers Spyder 6.1.7, installed through Spyder.Spyder with machine scope. Back up the data folders below when retaining local data or settings.
Close the app
Close Spyder, then check python, pythonw, conda and spyder processes inside %PROGRAMDATA%\spyder-6. Match the executable path; leave other Python projects alone.

Remove with the vendor uninstaller
Find the app in Settings › Apps › Installed apps and uninstall it. For the measured winget installation, you can also run the command below.

Check the result

No process output means no matching process was observed. A completed winget query with no match means the package is no longer listed; an error does not prove removal. Test-Path returns True if the data folder remains and False if that path is absent. True is expected when retaining data.
What Mole lists
%USERPROFILE%\.spyder-py3 and %LOCALAPPDATA%\Spyder\QtWebEngine\Default are personal data, unchecked and excluded from bulk selection; the retest confirmed that history scripts, templates and session folders survived. The separate %LOCALAPPDATA%\Spyder\cache\QtWebEngine\Default\Cache is selected and was removed. %PROGRAMDATA%\spyder-6 is unchecked in the review and was removed by the vendor uninstaller; shortcuts are selected. Shared Python, Jupyter and matplotlib state is retained.

Recorded in source tests and retests on Windows 11 ARM64 on 2026-10-03 and 2026-10-04. The released download, account sign-in, synced data and other installation channels were not verified. Delayed external-uninstall controls are sampled separately.
