How to uninstall Snipaste on Windows
Snipaste installs into winget's own package cache rather than a Program Files folder, and this test found nothing on disk apart from that folder: no separate settings or cache location was left behind by removing it. This guide covers Snipaste installed per-user through the liule.Snipaste winget package.
Quit Snipaste first
Close any pinned screenshots and check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for any Snipaste.exe still listed before you uninstall.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find Snipaste, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id liule.Snipaste
Snipaste has no uninstaller of its own; winget removes the whole cached package it installed.
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process Snipaste -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id liule.Snipaste
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. A listed process means it is still open. - A completed
winget listquery with no match means the package record is gone; a matching row means the uninstall did not finish.
What Mole lists
For Snipaste installed per-user from winget:
- The install folder rides on the app's own row and is selected by default.
- No other row appears for this installation: no separate settings, cache or registry entry was found.
What this test covered
Tested with Snipaste 2.11.3 installed through winget, per-user scope. The uninstall left nothing else to review in this test. Not verified: custom hotkeys or a changed save location, and the pinned-screenshot feature while items were pinned.
