How to uninstall QQ Image on Windows
QQ Image (QQ影像) opens and saves photos in your own folders, so your pictures stay there and uninstalling never touches them. Save anything you are still editing before you remove the app; its own data folder holds only settings. This guide covers QQ Image installed machine-wide with the installer the Tencent.QQImage winget package points to.
Quit QQ Image first
Save any photo you are editing and close QQ Image. Check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for any QQImage.exe still listed before you uninstall.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find QQImage3.0, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id Tencent.QQImage
The app is installed machine-wide, so Windows asks for administrator access. The uninstaller removes the program folder, its settings folder and its settings key.
Where the data lives
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Your picture folders | Your photos and edited copies | Keep them; they are not part of the app |
%APPDATA%\Tencent\QQImage |
App settings | Removed by the uninstaller in this test; remove it yourself if it is still there |
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Tencent\QQImage |
Small settings key | Removed by the uninstaller in this test |
%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Common Files\Tencent and %APPDATA%\Tencent\TXSSO |
Tencent's download and sign-in components, shared by other Tencent apps | Leave them alone |
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process QQImage -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
Test-Path "${env:ProgramFiles(x86)}\Tencent\QQImage"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\Tencent\QQImage"
Test-Path "HKCU:\SOFTWARE\Tencent\QQImage"
Get-ChildItem "$env:USERPROFILE\Desktop", "$env:PUBLIC\Desktop" -Filter "QQ影像*.lnk" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. - The first
Test-PathreturningFalsemeans the program folder is gone. - The next two returning
Falsemean the settings folder and key are gone. - A shortcut listed by
Get-ChildItemmeans a desktop shortcut is still there; delete it yourself.
If you installed it with winget
winget uninstall runs the same uninstaller Settings › Apps uses and removes the same program files. It does not touch Tencent's shared components.
What Mole lists
For QQ Image installed machine-wide:
%APPDATA%\Tencent\QQImageandHKCU\SOFTWARE\Tencent\QQImageare listed but not selected, since they hold your settings; in this test the uninstaller had already removed both.Common Files\Tencentand%APPDATA%\Tencent\TXSSOare not listed, since other Tencent apps use them.- Your photos are never listed.
What this test covered
Tested on September 27, 2026 with QQ Image 3.0.890.400, installed machine-wide with the vendor installer from the winget manifest because the winget download failed in the test PC, and removed with its own uninstaller run silently. The test PC's desktop was redirected to a shared folder, so the desktop shortcut stayed there; on a normal desktop, check for it yourself. Not verified: editing and saving photos.
