How to uninstall Qishui Music on Windows
Check downloaded music and account access before removing Qishui Music. An offline cache may depend on the client and account, so copying it is not proof that it will play independently.
Save your data and quit
Let downloads finish or cancel them, save any personally created files separately and exit the window and tray process. Keep an account recovery method available. Uninstalling the desktop client does not cancel a music subscription or delete cloud playlists.
Uninstall the tested package
In Windows 11, open Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find Qishui Music, and choose Uninstall. In Windows 10, use Settings › Apps › Apps & features. Keep the installed program folder intact until its uninstaller finishes. If this was the winget package, first confirm its exact identity:
winget list --id ByteDance.SodaMusic --exact
If the successful query shows the intended installation, remove that package:
winget uninstall --id ByteDance.SodaMusic --exact
This follows the package’s registered removal method; portable packages use their package-manager removal instead. An error or a missing winget match is not proof that the app is absent: check the Windows app list and the original installation method. Follow any vendor confirmation or restart request after saving other work. See Microsoft’s uninstall command documentation.
Data and components to check
The following locations or components need separate decisions. A remaining folder is not automatically disposable.
| Location or component | What to keep or check |
|---|---|
%APPDATA%\SodaMusic |
Client data observed in testing; review settings and account-related state before removal. |
%APPDATA%\luna_pc |
An additional app-specific directory verified in the test. It is a review choice, not a generic cache parent. |
Official product information supplies product context; the Mole observations below describe the recorded test, not a vendor promise.
Check the outcome
winget list --id ByteDance.SodaMusic --exact
Test-Path -LiteralPath "$env:APPDATA\SodaMusic"
Test-Path -LiteralPath "$env:APPDATA\luna_pc"
A successful package query with no matching row means that package registration was not found. A matching row means it still exists; an error leaves the result unknown. For each Test-Path, True means that exact location remains and False means it was not found; an access error does not mean it was removed. Keep deliberately retained data. Check Task Manager for a process whose executable belongs to this installation, and distinguish another version or a separate companion app before acting.
What Mole lists
The review included the program, shortcuts, SodaMusic data, owned link registration and startup entry. The additional luna_pc directory is offered for review. Machine-wide service and settings information was retained; the recorded AppShellElevationService was still present after uninstalling.
What this test covered
Qishui Music 3.8.0’s user installation was removed and the added directory rule exercised on real residue. The run did not verify an actual upgrade, restoring a signed-in profile, offline playback after reinstalling or removal of every service.
These results are from a development build of Mole. Other released builds were not individually tested.
