How to uninstall PeaZip on Windows
This guide covers the official PeaZip 11.2.0 x64 Windows installer. Close open archives and exit PeaZip before uninstalling.
Back up settings and data first
After quitting the app, copy any data folder you want to keep to another location and check the copy. These locations were observed in this test; keep your own projects and files separate.
| Location | Contents | What to do |
|---|---|---|
%APPDATA%\PeaZip |
Archiver settings | Keep for reuse; remove only to reset |
Uninstall the app
Uninstall PeaZip from Windows Settings. The measured machine program folder was %ProgramFiles%\PeaZip.
Check the result
Test-Path "$env:ProgramFiles\PeaZip"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\PeaZip"
Test-Path "$env:ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\PeaZip"
Test-Path returns False when that exact path is absent and True when it still exists. A data path returning True is expected if you kept your settings or data. If a query reports an error, resolve it before deciding whether the path is absent.
PeaZip installation and removal
What Mole lists
The application, desktop and Start Menu shortcuts, and usage records are selected by default. %APPDATA%\PeaZip is a row listed but not selected by default. Leave it unchecked to keep PeaZip settings.
What this test covered
Tested on October 6, 2026, in a Windows 11 ARM64 VM with a Mole development build. This batch selected the settings data row. All three checks returned False; the desktop shortcut, exact uninstall registration and owned processes were also independently absent, and the native app list no longer showed PeaZip. Eighteen shared machine file extension keys were kept. Work with real archives, external uninstall and the released Mole package were not tested.
