How to uninstall PDFgear on Windows

Save and close open PDFs before uninstalling. This guide covers PDFgear 2.1.20 installed through winget. Your PDF files are outside the app leftovers measured in this run.

Remove the app

Find PDFgear in Settings › Apps › Installed apps, or run this PowerShell command to invoke its own uninstaller.

winget uninstall --id PDFgear.PDFgear --exact

Startup and processes

The PDFgear user Run startup switch was turned off and restored. Its startup entry disappeared after uninstalling. The process table showed PDFLauncher and PDFgear, belonging to PDFLauncher.exe and FileWatcher.exe inside this installation, rather than two separate installations.

Check the result

These read-only commands check the package registration and program folder. Whether local data remains depends on your uninstall selections.

A successful winget query with no match means the package registration is absent; a query error leaves it unknown. False for the program path means that path does not exist. True for local data only means the folder remains, not what documents it contains.

What Mole lists

Local data contained onlyin this run. No real PDF was opened and no account was used, so the result does not verify removal of documents, editing history or AI conversations. Leave “Also remove data” off to retain local state.

What this test covered

Tested on October 4, 2026, in a Windows 11 ARM64 VM with a Mole development build, using the machine-wide Inno package. The selected program, data and registration were removed. Real PDFs, data recovery, other installation channels, external-uninstall detection and the released download were not verified.
