How to uninstall Parsec on Windows
This record covers Parsec 150-104a, installed through winget Parsec.Parsec with machine scope. Back up the folders below when retaining local data.
Close the app
Close the window and tray entry, then use Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) to check processes inside this app’s program folder. Quit only processes whose executable paths belong to this app.
Data and settings
| Location | Action |
|---|---|
%APPDATA%\Parsec |
Inspect and back up data; keep the parent folder |
%ProgramFiles%\Parsec Virtual USB Adapter Driver |
Observed companion-driver residue; retain for separate review |
Remove with the vendor uninstaller
Find the app in Settings › Apps › Installed apps and uninstall it. Save local data first; use the uninstaller rather than deleting its program folder.
For the measured winget installation, this command runs the package’s uninstall flow.
winget uninstall --id Parsec.Parsec --exact
Check the result
winget list --id Parsec.Parsec --exact
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\Parsec"
Test-Path "$env:ProgramFiles\Parsec Virtual USB Adapter Driver"
No process output means no matching process was observed. A completed installation query with no match means the measured registration is absent; a query error does not prove removal. Test-Path returns True when the path remains and False when absent. True is expected when retaining data.
What Mole lists
The program folder and Start Menu shortcuts are selected; %APPDATA%\Parsec is unchecked. uninstall.exe remained inside Parsec Virtual USB Adapter Driver after the companion driver registration disappeared. Ownership was insufficient for safe automatic removal, so it was retained; do not delete the Program Files parent.
What this test covered
Recorded in Windows 11 ARM64 source tests and retests on 2026-10-03 and 2026-10-04, using the vendor NSIS uninstaller. The released download, account sign-in, synced content and other installation channels were not verified.
