How to uninstall Noi on Windows
Noi puts several AI websites in one window, so your conversations live in each service's own account, not in Noi. What Noi keeps on this PC is its settings and the sign-ins to those sites; if you might reinstall, keep its data folder, otherwise expect to sign in again. This guide covers Noi installed per-user from the installer in the lencx.Noi winget package.
Quit Noi first
Quit Noi, then check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) that no Noi.exe is still listed; it runs several of them at once. Noi added no startup entry in this test.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find Noi, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id lencx.Noi
The uninstaller removes the program and the desktop shortcut. In this test part of the program folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\noi was still there afterwards, and the uninstaller left the data folder, the Start Menu folder named lencx.me (after Noi's author) and the noi:// link registration.
Where the data lives
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
%APPDATA%\Noi |
Settings, the sign-ins and site data of the AI services you opened, and logs | Keep it if you might reinstall; remove it for a clean start |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\noi |
What remains of the program folder | Safe to remove once the uninstall has finished |
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\lencx.me |
Noi's Start Menu folder | Safe to remove |
HKCU\Software\Classes\noi |
The noi:// link registration |
Safe to remove once the app is gone |
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process Noi -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id lencx.Noi
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\noi"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\Noi"
Test-Path HKCU:\Software\Classes\noi
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. A listed process means it is still open. - A completed
winget listquery with no match means the package record is gone; a matching row means the uninstall did not finish. - The first
Test-PathreturningFalsemeans the program folder is gone;Truemeans files remain there. Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\Noi"returningTruemeans your settings and sign-ins are still there, which is expected unless you removed them yourself.- The last
Test-PathreturningFalsemeans the link registration is gone;Truemeans it is still there.
If you installed it with winget
winget uninstall runs the same uninstaller Settings › Apps uses and removes the same program files; it does not touch %APPDATA%\Noi or the link registration.
Accounts
Removing Noi does not sign you out of the AI services on other devices or cancel any of their subscriptions. Manage those on each service's website.
What Mole lists
For Noi installed per-user from the winget package's installer:
- The program folder goes with the app row. The desktop shortcut and the lencx.me Start Menu folder are selected by default.
%APPDATA%\Noiis listed but not selected, since it holds your settings and sign-ins. Itslogsfolder is listed on its own and selected by default.- The
noi://link registration is selected by default and backed up to a.regfile before removal. - A row grouping Windows' own records of when you opened the program is selected by default.
What this test covered
Tested on September 29, 2026 with Noi 1.1.0 from the winget package's installer, per-user scope, installed from an elevated session on an ARM64 virtual machine. The uninstaller is Squirrel and ran silently. Every listed row was ticked and removed in this test. Not verified: signing in to any AI service, and what a data folder with real sign-ins holds.
