How to uninstall Native Access on Windows
Native Access only installs, updates and activates Native Instruments products. Instruments, libraries and plug-ins you installed through it are separate installs and stay where they are, and your licenses stay with your Native Instruments account, so there is little to back up. You will need Native Access again to install, update or reactivate those products later. This guide covers Native Access 2 installed per-user from the installer on native-instruments.com, which puts its program files in %ProgramFiles%\Native Instruments\Native Access.
Quit Native Access first
Let any download or installation finish, then close the window. Native Access runs several processes, so check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for any Native Access.exe still listed. It added no startup entry in this test.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find Native Access, and choose Uninstall. There is no winget package for this install.
Where the data lives
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
%ProgramFiles%\Native Instruments\Native Access |
Program files | The uninstaller removes it |
%ProgramFiles%\Native Instruments |
Vendor parent folder | Empty after the uninstall unless other Native Instruments products live there; remove it only if it is empty |
%APPDATA%\Native Instruments\Native Access |
Settings, sign-in state and web caches | Remove it for a clean start; sign in again after a reinstall |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\nativeaccess2-updater |
Downloaded update installers | Safe to remove |
HKCU\Software\Native Instruments\Native Access |
App settings | Safe to remove once the app is gone |
HKCU\Software\Native Instruments\Shared and %APPDATA%\Native Instruments |
Shared by Native Instruments products | Leave them while you use any other Native Instruments product |
HKCU\Software\Classes\native-access |
The native-access:// link registration |
Left by the uninstaller; safe to remove once the app is gone |
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process "Native Access" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
Get-ItemProperty HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\* | Where-Object DisplayName -like "Native Access*"
Test-Path "$env:ProgramFiles\Native Instruments\Native Access"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\Native Instruments\Native Access"
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\nativeaccess2-updater"
Test-Path HKCU:\Software\Classes\native-access
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. Get-ItemPropertyreturning values means the entry remains. With no output, check for permission or other query errors before deciding that it is absent.- The first
Test-PathreturningFalsemeans the program folder is gone. - The next two returning
Truemean the settings folder or the update cache is still there. - The last
Test-PathreturningTruemeans the link registration is still there.
Account and licenses
Uninstalling does not deactivate your products or remove them from your Native Instruments account. Your serial numbers and downloads stay in the account.

What this test covered
Tested on 2026-09-28 with Native Access 3.26.0 from the Native Access 2 installer, per-user scope, on an ARM64 virtual machine. Its NSIS uninstaller ran silently. Every listed row was ticked and removed in this test. Not verified: a signed-in account and installed Native Instruments products.
