How to uninstall MSYS2 on Windows
This record covers MSYS2, registered version 20260611, installed through winget MSYS2.MSYS2 with user scope. Back up the folders below when retaining data.
Close the app
Close the window and tray entry, then check mintty.exe, bash.exe in Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc). Match the executable path before quitting a process.

Remove with the vendor uninstaller
Find the app in Settings › Apps › Installed apps and uninstall it. Keep the vendor’s data-retention option when saving data; use the uninstaller rather than deleting the program folder.
For the measured winget installation, you can also run this command.

Check the result

No process output means no matching process was observed. A completed installation query with no match means the measured registration is absent; a query error does not prove removal.
What Mole lists
Only the Start Menu MSYS2 folder was listed and selected. C:\msys64 had no separate program-folder review row; vendor removal does not prove that Mole recycled the whole distribution tree. Save personal projects, toolchain configuration and scripts inside MSYS2; the distribution root is not disposable cache.
