How to uninstall Motrix on Windows
This guide covers the official Motrix 1.8.19 installer for the current Windows user. Finish or cancel active downloads before uninstalling.
Remove the app
Quit Motrix, then uninstall it from Settings › Apps › Installed apps. Its program folder is %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Motrix.
Check the result
Test-Path 'HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\1c69d6f0-819e-59ee-95e7-e2b930a46bea'
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Programs\Motrix"
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Motrix-updater"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\Motrix"
Test-Path returns False when that exact path is absent and True when it still exists. A data path returning True is expected if you kept your settings or data. If a query reports an error, resolve it before deciding whether the path is absent.
What Mole lists
The program folder, %LOCALAPPDATA%\Motrix-updater, cache folders, shortcuts and owned protocol entries are selected by default. %APPDATA%\Motrix contains client settings and task state and starts unchecked for review; bulk selection can include it. Keep that row unchecked if you want to retain its contents.
The measured uninstall reported two firewall rules for Motrix's aria2c.exe and left them in Windows. Mole reports these rules without deleting them. It does not offer downloaded files for removal.
What this test covered
Tested on October 6, 2026, in a Windows 11 ARM64 VM with a Mole development build. All four paths returned False after the measured bulk uninstall, which included the review row. The native Apps list no longer showed Motrix, and a successful process inventory contained neither Motrix nor its aria2c process. The two firewall rules remained. Real downloads, an external uninstall and a released Mole package were not tested.
