How to uninstall Mind+ on Windows
Mind+ projects are the .sb3 and other project files you saved, wherever you saved them, and uninstalling Mind+ does not touch those. Mind+ also keeps a workspace of its own under %LOCALAPPDATA%\DFScratch, with a user folder meant for your work, so look in there and copy out anything you made before you clear it. This guide covers Mind+ installed machine-wide from the DFRobot.Mind+ winget package.
Quit Mind+ first
Save your project and close every Mind+ window, then disconnect any board you were programming. Mind+ runs several processes, so check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for any Mind+.exe still listed before you uninstall.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find Mind+, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id DFRobot.Mind+
The package installs machine-wide, so Windows asks for administrator access. The uninstaller runs silently and removes the Mind+ program folder.
Where the data lives
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Your saved project files | Your projects | Keep them; they are not part of the app |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\DFScratch |
Mind+'s workspace: config.json with your language and theme, and folders for the backpack, builds, extensions, firmware and your own work in user |
Check user and copy out anything you made; then remove it for a clean start |
%APPDATA%\MindPlus |
The app's profile and settings | Remove it for a clean start; keep it if you are reinstalling soon |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\MindPlus-updater |
A downloaded installer, about the size of the full app | Safe to remove |
%APPDATA%\Mind+\logs |
An empty log folder | Safe to remove |
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Classes\mindplus |
The mindplus:// link registration, still pointing at the removed program |
Safe to remove once Mind+ is gone |
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process "Mind+" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id DFRobot.Mind+
Test-Path "${env:ProgramFiles(x86)}\Mind+"
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\DFScratch"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\MindPlus"
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\MindPlus-updater"
Test-Path "HKCU:\SOFTWARE\Classes\mindplus"
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. - A completed
winget listquery with no match means the package record is gone; a matching row means the uninstall did not finish. - The first
Test-PathreturningFalsemeans the program folder is gone. Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\DFScratch"returningTruemeans the workspace is still there; check itsuserfolder before you remove it.- The
MindPlusandMindPlus-updaterchecks returningTruemean the profile and the downloaded installer are still there, which is expected unless you removed them yourself. - The last
Test-PathreturningTruemeans themindplus://link still points at the removed program.
If you installed it with winget
winget uninstall runs the same silent uninstaller Settings › Apps uses and removes the same program files; it does not touch %LOCALAPPDATA%\DFScratch, %APPDATA%\MindPlus or the updater folder.
What Mole lists
For Mind+ installed machine-wide from winget:
%APPDATA%\MindPlusis listed but not selected, since it holds your profile and settings.%LOCALAPPDATA%\MindPlus-updater, which holds only a downloaded installer, is selected by default.%LOCALAPPDATA%\DFScratch, the empty%APPDATA%\Mind+\logsfolder and themindplus://link were not listed in this test. Check them after the uninstall and remove them yourself, after looking inDFScratch\userfor your own work.
What this test covered
Tested on September 28, 2026 with Mind+ 1.7.2 installed through winget, machine scope, and removed with its silent uninstaller. Both listed rows were ticked and removed in this test. No project was created and no board was connected, so the user folder was empty apart from a readme.
