How to uninstall Lark on Windows
Save downloaded attachments and unfinished work, and confirm needed documents are available from another signed-in client before removing Lark. Keep a separate copy of anything available only on this PC. This guide covers the per-user ByteDance.Lark installation, not Feishu; Lark documents that the two clients use separate accounts.
Quit and uninstall
Quit Lark from the tray and check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for Lark.exe. The tested installation added a Lark Launcher startup entry, visible in Settings › Apps › Startup.
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps › Lark › Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id ByteDance.Lark --exact
Winget starts the vendor's confirmation window; answer Yes to remove the client. Closing that window is not a completed uninstall. The tested removal did not need an extra silent switch.
Review retained data
The following paths were observed in the Windows test.
| Location | What to do |
|---|---|
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Lark |
Holds the tested client and its local data; back up wanted data before deleting the whole folder |
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Lark |
Keep client settings for a reinstall or review this exact key |
%APPDATA%\LarkInternationalSingleton |
The tested uninstall left this folder empty; check its contents before deciding whether to remove it |
| Your downloaded files | Keep wanted attachments wherever you saved them |
Do not remove Feishu's folders or shared Chromium settings as Lark leftovers. Removing the desktop client does not delete your account or organization, cloud documents, or a subscription.
Check the result
Get-Process Lark -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id ByteDance.Lark --exact
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Lark"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\LarkInternationalSingleton"
Test-Path 'HKCU:\SOFTWARE\Lark'
No process output means that executable name is not running; no winget match means the matching installation record is gone. True means the specific folder or key remains, while False means it does not. A retained folder can hold wanted data or be empty; an error does not establish either result.
What Mole lists
Matching shortcuts are selected by default. The Lark folder, user settings key, startup value and the feishu, feishu-open, lark and x-lark link registrations are listed but not selected. Registry removals are backed up first. The empty LarkInternationalSingleton folder from this test is not listed.
What this test covered
Tested on October 3, 2026 with Lark 8.1.22, per-user winget installation on an ARM64 VM. All review rows were explicitly selected and the vendor's Yes confirmation completed. The startup entry disappeared and an empty LarkInternationalSingleton folder remained. Real account data, downloaded attachments, document recovery, organizational policies and a separate vendor-only removal were not verified.
