How to uninstall KDocs on Windows
This record covers Kingsoft Docs 3.11.2 installed machine-wide through Kingsoft.KDocs, with publisher Kingsoft Corp. Removing the program and removing its local configuration are separate choices. Preserve wanted data before selecting profile folders.
Close Kingsoft Docs before uninstalling and keep a copy of any local data or settings you want to retain.
Remove the program
Find 金山文档 in Windows Settings under Installed apps and choose Uninstall. The vendor's clear-local-configuration box was unchecked by default in this run and stayed unchecked. No optional removal reason was selected, and the final completion button was acknowledged. Mole invoked this same registered uninstaller; external winget removal was not tested.
Check the result
Test-Path "${env:ProgramFiles(x86)}\金山文档"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\kdesktop"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\kingsoft\pc_wpsdocs"
Test-Path "HKCU:\SOFTWARE\KDocs\Info"
All four were False in this run. That proves only those exact targets were absent, not that cloud documents, exports or browser extensions were removed.
For your own check, a successful Test-Path query returns True when that specific path exists and False when it is absent. A query error leaves the result unresolved; neither result proves that every leftover is gone.
What Mole lists
The program folder %ProgramFiles(x86)%\金山文档, owned shortcuts, the verified wpsdocs protocol and usage records are selected by default. These three targets are listed but not selected by default; choosing to include app data includes them.
| Location | Measured contents |
|---|---|
%APPDATA%\kdesktop |
Browser state and configuration,; known cache children are separately selected by default |
%APPDATA%\kingsoft\pc_wpsdocs |
Local configuration, |
HKCU\SOFTWARE\KDocs\Info |
The app's configuration subkey |
The shared kingsoft parent, other WPS data and the KDocs parent key remain. Another registered copy of the exact app also keeps these profiles and cache children. No account or real document was used, and retention of unsynced data was not tested; these whole profiles are not caches.
What this test covered
Tested on October 4, 2026, in a Windows 11 ARM64 VM with a Mole development build, covering first launch and uninstall. Sign-in, sync, real documents or browser extensions, other installation channels and the released download were not verified. Automatic detection after an external uninstall was not verified.
