How to uninstall Inkscape on Windows

This guide covers the official Inkscape 1.4.4 x64 machine MSI installer.

Back up artwork first

Keep your SVG files and exported artwork before uninstalling. Back up %APPDATA%\inkscape if you need its preferences or custom resources. Document editing and data recovery were not tested.

Uninstall the app

Quit Inkscape, then uninstall it from Windows Settings. The measured program directory was C:\Program Files\Inkscape.

Check the result

All four paths independently returned False after this test. A query error does not prove absence.

What Mole lists

The program, shortcuts and usage records are selected by default. The roaming profile and user settings key are unchecked Review rows; this test included them in the data selection.

What this test covered

Tested on October 7, 2026, in a Windows 11 ARM64 VM with a source-built Mole. Six outcomes were two Removed and four Missing, with independent registration, program and process readbacks confirming removal. The first Quick Setup window, native icon, size, Status row, Startup and update list were observed. No applicable update appeared in the complete check; this proves neither latest version nor successful upgrade. External uninstall, document editing, recovery and the released Mole package were not tested.
