How to uninstall Fiddler Everywhere on Windows
Fiddler Everywhere's saved sessions, capture rules and account sign-in live apart from the program files, and removing the app leaves them in place. Back up any session you want to keep before you uninstall. This guide covers Fiddler Everywhere installed per-user from the Telerik.Fiddler.Everywhere winget package. Fiddler Everywhere documentation
Quit Fiddler Everywhere first
Fiddler Everywhere runs as several processes, including a web UI host (Fiddler.WebUi.exe) alongside the main app, so close every window and check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for any Fiddler process still listed before you uninstall.
Remove the app with its own uninstaller
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find Fiddler Everywhere, and choose Uninstall, or run:
winget uninstall --id Telerik.Fiddler.Everywhere
Back up before you remove data
Copy %APPDATA%\Fiddler Everywhere before you clear it if you want to keep saved sessions, capture rules or your sign-in state.
Where the data lives
| Location | What it holds | What to do |
|---|---|---|
%APPDATA%\Fiddler Everywhere |
Saved sessions, settings and sign-in state | Back this up first; the uninstaller does not remove it |
%APPDATA%\Fiddler Everywhere\Cache, Code Cache, DawnGraphiteCache, DawnWebGPUCache, GPUCache, logs |
Editor caches and logs | Safe to remove |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\fiddler-everywhere-updater |
Downloaded update installers | Safe to remove |
Check the result
Run these read-only commands after the uninstall finishes:
Get-Process Fiddler* -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
winget list --id Telerik.Fiddler.Everywhere
Test-Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Programs\Fiddler Everywhere"
Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\Fiddler Everywhere"
- No output from
Get-Processonly means this query observed no matching process; a suppressed error leaves the running state unknown. A listed process means a window or helper is still open. - A completed
winget listquery with no match means the package record is gone; a matching row means the uninstall did not finish. - The first
Test-PathreturningFalsemeans the program folder is gone;Truemeans files remain there. Test-Path "$env:APPDATA\Fiddler Everywhere"returningTruemeans your saved sessions and settings are still there, which is expected unless you removed them yourself.
If you installed it with winget
winget uninstall runs the same uninstaller Settings › Apps uses and removes the same program files; it does not touch %APPDATA%\Fiddler Everywhere on its own.
Account and subscription
Uninstalling does not cancel a paid Fiddler Everywhere plan or sign you out of your Telerik account. Check your plan on Telerik's own account pages separately.
What Mole lists
For Fiddler Everywhere installed per-user from winget:
- The program folder, the Start Menu shortcut and the desktop shortcut are selected by default.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\fiddler-everywhere-updateris selected by default.%APPDATA%\Fiddler Everywhereis listed but not selected, since it holds your saved sessions and sign-in state; the caches and logs inside it are listed on their own and selected by default.- A
fiddlerapp://link registration is listed, backed up to a.regfile, and selected by default when it still points at the removed program. - The rule added on September 29 lists
%USERPROFILE%\.fiddlerfor review without selecting it. Its removal has not been retested on the VM; check the review in the version you use. - File-type associations for
.farx,.ffx,.harand.saz, which other tools can also open, are not part of this list.
What this test covered
Tested with Fiddler Everywhere 8.1.0 installed through winget, per-user scope, on an ARM64 test VM. Not verified: a signed-in Telerik account, and the contents and removal of %USERPROFILE%\.fiddler, which the earlier test found outside %APPDATA%.
